My take on this Contador knob.

His attack on the one mountain stage in 2011 was admirable and exciting to watch, but was not enough to convince me that I should like him.

Now he should count his blessings with this little 8 month suspended ban.

The real sad thing will be all those idiots who will support him and become big fans upon his return.

His Clen case:

It reminds me of Doppel Van Tonder who has a shag on the side, and in fear of his wife finding a white stain or two in his undies he makes sure that he washes his own underwear.

Now even if she was to find a little stain or two, then Doppel would be hard pressed to say he simply chowed some contaminated fish and ended up with small traces of milk in his undies.

No my tjaainas, much like Contador, he shed most of it before he even got caught.

Wada simply caught him with the small traces of what was left.

And he thinks we are dumb enough to believe him that he got it from this:

Well the plasticisers as I said must have been from his dogs play steak:

I reall reading somewhere that the amount of clen in his blood meant he would have had to have chowed 8kg of steak

UCI shows favouritism to a few selected rider's, Pat McQuaid reminds me of Sepp Blater. When A guy like Mcquaid says there are no problems such as doping in the sport I have little faith that its clean although the peleton are riding slower which could just be microdoping and we have moved away from full out drug use. Riders and doctors have to be on there toes these days and it wont hurt if the team has a load of money to exchange hands.

I still want to know what happened to the 50-odd suspect riders targetted under the biological passport.

I think its also about Pat putting his foot down on the big teams who threatened a breakaway league. Just showing he is da main man who can make or break teams and others who challenge him (ie where does this leave Saxonbank now, possibly without enough points to continue in the prime league)

I cant say Conti is innocent, but it makes no sense that he would have done this, to me at least. He is a top athlete at his prime, its generally when fortunes start lagging that the athletes need a pick me up. Why would he have take this muscle building fat reducing drug anyway? He claims he never has a problem with weight and sheds it easily.

Now we all know he is not capable of that, so I can only assume that the Clen was put there by lethal injection from Fido's plastic steak and he got lucky/unlucky that the random testing conducted on the day revealed the truth, pity they didn't catch it earlier.

Simply because the human body is like any fuel driven object on the planet, and when you have reached the pinnacle of what you inherited in your gene pool and you need that little edge on your competitors (especially when the tank is a little empty), this is when you resort to stupidity and the head doesn't work clearly anymore.

Using the steak as a BS excuse is already an indicator that his head has never worked properly in the first place.

He could have used a different "excuse"?

Ullrich indeed tested positive for a no-no substance, MDMA, but the authorites decided that as we was doing it out of competition he wasn't using it for performance-enhancing reasons.

That's a joke - the A in MDMA is Amphetamine! is part of that family, ie stimulants.

And other athletes had been sanctioned for positive for traces of Rec Drugs like Cocaine, so they cant be 'exempt'

That's as may be but trying winning a bike race when you are pilled up. You'd probably overheat and cook your insides if you didn't get off at the water point and start hugging the volunteers.

Anyways, I would think that if the Clen was detected via a bad cow then it should show up in a few of his team mates or riders that stayed at the same hotel - unless Contador just happened to get the last steak from the bad cow?

My understanding is that he was the only rider that was tested for this (new procedure) and since traces of Clen does not remain in the body for too long it there was probably no point in testing the others

I hate to think what is in the food we eat.Esp meat and chicken.

I hear dreadful stories of the growth hormones and fat shedding drugs etc they are fed to bring the food faster and better to our table with least wastage

Not suggest he was gurning on the saddle but, stimulants are stimulants.

The Belgians have a long history of using recreational drugs including Cocaine for cycling purposes - aka Pot Belge - not MDMA though - more likely to win by blazing a joint downwind from a hotdog stand :P

In Boonen and Ullrich's cases though I think both were out of competition tests. Boonen was a 2 time loser and seen as an influential role model in Belgium - maybe that's why he got slapped with the ban.
