Don't worry Eugene I think we all know that the peeps from CSA were to busy memorizing quotes from Charles Dickens rather than memorizing the route.

Not one Metro car or official in sight - are they striking or are they stuffing their fat faces with muffins and coke? What a joke, when a country succumbs to the issues of law enforcing officials!

Nah. The fat ****ers are sitting by Corlett Drive speed trapping...

Wait till they get to PE with all the trucks and buses on the Highways :(

Some things just can't go to all the people

Can't blame Metro for sitting at Chicken Licken when CSA never told them to rather eat their chicken at the corner of Jan Smuts and Bompas

at least today's stage has given our foreign guests an authentic experience! i give credit to CSA for getting the tour going again, but from an operational point of view today's route was very naive - they underestimated the challenge of rolling road closure through busy areas. running an event like this requires serious attention to detail - it's clear this is lacking (i was at SA's and it was obvious there too). let's see if they are able to think on their feet now. hopefully the remaining stages will be re-evaluated to make sure we set the bar at a realistic level

Very disappointing. My sons and I were stoked about this. What a missed opportunity. Fair to say, there were problems from the start. 3 spring to mind:

1. The announcement seemed amateurish. Surely when you announce something like this you have the route, etc. worked out before. Clearly CSA hadn't.

2. Anyone try join the Tour of SA Facebook page? To get details you had to have your frienship request accepted. I'm still waiting. Hope I get it before the end of the race?

3. Advertising went up very late! Most of the folks in my club that I spoke to this morning didn't know about it.

it took 24 hours for my facebook request to be approved. as for advertising, there has been none, if it wasn't for my interest in cycling and the hub here, I would never have known a thing!

"it was *** times and it was kakker times"! This is shocking but not really surprizing. Rather leave the tours to countries that can host them. Maybe they should make a 4th world category and slot us in there

Giro del Capo here we come.... it was more organised, stayed in one province and only lacked the sponsorship.

Cell C can sponsor the giro seeing as they have enough dosh to sponsor the (vrot) tour of SA.

Because full closure is organised for a full 7 hours..Here they were trying to only close for a few minutes while the peleton went through. One must question WHERE WAS THE SANDTON TRAFFIC DEPT??? :( .

Yes well I stood in the sun for 2 hours on the bend at Monte Casino to see nuthing

I don't care who is resp but I certainly will not waste my time to go see another stage.

Stuff CSA,stuff the riders and stuff everyone involved.

That is certainly not the way to draw spectators and crowds to the sport.Let alone entertain holding an event like Tour Down Under

BTW Slowpoke...that was me on the crutches with my daughter.
