  2. Pinging @Titan Racing Bikes while I’m popping the kernels 🍿
  3. The Empire model is routed that way with their prime 1 piece handlebar. Take the fork out and see if the fork is cut for it. Cant believe that they would make 2 versions of the same fork. The tooling and moulding would just be to expensive

  5. So I just need to rant about my current disappointment with Titan Racing bikes. I own one of their hardtail MTB's and absolutely love the bike. Thus I had to issue looking at them as a brand when I was searching for a gravel bike. With the recent launch of the Switch Gen 2 I was intrigued. Stock was moving fast and getting hold of a dealer with stock took some searching. I was eyeing the Carbon Pro model as it had everything I wanted/needed on a bike. I prefer internal cable routing and this particular model had external routing. So I called Titan Racing head office before pulling the trigger and spoke to a helpful gentlemen enquiring if I can swop handlebars in future and change routing to internal routing. I was assured that it can be done as all Switch models have the same frame etc and that headset, spacers etc will need to be swopped. This was reassuring and I pulled the trigger on the bike. Now two weeks later I was thinking of doing the modifications and surprise surprise now I'm told by the dealer I purchased from and Titan Racing themselves that such a change is not possible. Why give me the wrong impression in the first place when I clearly asked about this? Do you really know that little about your own product? All in all, I'm done with the @Titan Racing Bikes brand after this. Expensive lesson learned, I will sell my Titan bikes and move on. Absolutely disgusted by this.
  6. Remarkable that the race was not neutralised or shortened due to the angry weather gods. Many suggest that the Giro should be swopped with the Vuelta as the climate is a relatively better around Spain than on the Italian boot. Love it when the breakaway wins. Pic: Getty Images
  7. Thank you all for input
  8. We have a 20" in pink. https://titanracingbikes.com/bikes/player-jr-20-3/
  9. We stay in Porterville and my Wife teaches in Ceres at the high school. Word is, its going to be closed for 2 weeks at least. Ceres has NO power and NO cell reception. Glad you got home safe!
  10. I see quite a few pink options in the classifieds

  13. Hi everyone, my 5 year old is ready to get her first bike. I'm looking for a pink bike.. Yes.. The light Barbie pink.. In 20" and specifically with training wheels. I've seen the Avalanche Antex ,https://solomonscycles.co.za/product/avalanche-antix-20-steel-frame-junior-girls-mountain-bike-2025/?utm_source=Google Shopping&utm_campaign=Solomons Cycles&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=adtribes&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23518441802&gclid=CjwKCAjwn4vQBhBsEiwAq3hhN8lAk561rZago97_44p-ot7GMxBSMbaf3Y8zXSnrobO2PB45IY7ufhoCFFUQAvD_BwE but the rhubarb and cream colour is a non-starter. I have seen that there are other pink 20"but the guys at Solomons say that you can't put training wheels on most 20"bikes as they have gears.. I wonder if these work (https://www.decathlon.co.za/p/302106-108573-20-and-24-kids-bike-stabilisers.html?gad_campaignid=22303306686&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwwpDQBhAuEiwAa-4Wo7G2sEoYdWsoQOjIS4grnN_VTImjlcHYYgMATNfqSkQqHg3Jc_C0wRoCsuMQAvD_BwE&utm_campaign=za_t-perf_ct-pmax_ts-bra_f-cv_o-conv_spd-msp_spu-msp_sp-msp_fo-mix_at-dem_xx-feed_only_campaign&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=Google) My question.. Any good 20" pink bikes I should consider available in Joburg that can have training wheels on them? I have heard that I should avoid Raleigh and Kerb. Help!!
  14. As noted by most posts above - your riding conditions and temperatures are critical to the correct answer. In Bellville it seldom gets to single digits ... BUT, 5km from home the R300 dips at Hazendal and the temperatures dips even faster. Often down to degrees, seldom below 3 degrees. The trick being that 5km further it is back at 9 or 10 degrees, then just heating up from there for the rest of the ride. I have started these rides with full finger gloves, just to put it in my pack after 10 or 15km ... then again, these rides typically mean I am going to take of layers of clothing as well. So I got the Mule hydration pack for the extra storage. This only applies to 100+km rides in the winter. (which I should be doing now in preparation for Augrabies) At Augrabies it is a whole different ball game !!!! Starting in 3 to 4 degrees celcius .... add wind chill and those firts 5 km are a slow defrost session .... by the first water point the script has flipped, reaching 10 to 15 degrees and heating up to low 20's. Thankfully they have the option where we can take of layers, put it in a bag on the back of a bakkie and pick it up back at the finish point. So For Augrabies I start with latex gloves, then full finger gloves over that ... It stops the freezing ... BUT !!! After a few km your fingers start sweating, so you stop and remove the latex and use the gloves to the first or second water point, depending on how it heats up. Then again, with those thorn tree bushes - best to keep those full finger gloves on !! I am noting the feedback about the First Accent thermal inners ... will try this for Augrabies. (can only be better than the latex .... that is only an emergency measure, and only for the worst of the cold)
  15. The real irony .... Around here one of those "parents" is a fellow cyclist who has to provide input on event safety and event permits .... In Noordhoek it is also a fellow cyclist who is one of the volunteer health and safety officers for the World Champs and fun rides who has to provide input on the days and hours leading up to the start gun ...
  16. Swartberg also closed Not sure if it was possible to do N2 - Swellendam - Ashton - Montagu - Koo - N1 .... one heck of a detour and no alternative if any section got blocked ....
  17. Thermal liner gloves are my preferred option too ... First Ascent, Cape Storm etc. That said, it's for Cape Town and not the cold experienced further north.
  18. A song that has stayed in my head my whole life since hearing it in the early 80’s. Daltry really was a star, good looks, amazing voice, great actor. https://youtu.be/ebnHKtGUtUs?si=7SrHslzs5dcsjvAi
  19. First Ascent sells a Thermal Inner for gloves. I put my regular short finger cycling mitts over these. They work a charm since you can take them off and stuff into your jersey pockets when it gets hot. Obviously they wont work in wet weather, but I love the versatility to take them off when the cold has eased. Last time I checked they were R350' ish.
  20. Archy posted some post storm route photos on IG and it appears as if many of the roads held up very well.
