If there is no back up then you just carry a spare tubby,and if you puncture just change the tubby and ride easy(careful around the corners) to the finish-no problem.Use to train in the old days on tubbs and believe me a lot of punctures in the dark,just a pain in the bud to repair them.

Great trainers just very noisey,but they last a long time -bought mine second hand in 1999 and still going strong.

Had a one like Tankman the brightest one ,but it had an intermittend problem later on,(switc itselt off during the ride) then a Blackburn Mars3 very bright and now the Mars4(1w led) very very bright.Time will tell how long it will last.

I use mine for racing only -no problems so far.The rear hub might be noisy but i am use to a campy rear hub-still running true.

After 28 years of cycling no Argus yet.

car silicone -the black ones works well,or shoe patch(the goo you use to repair your running shoes)

I am still on the 9spd and no problem for getting parts, if not available local i then order from crc or total cycling.I am sure there is still a couple of years left for camy 9spd.(campag c9 chain is still the best)

For a tt or break away aerodynamics plays a role ,but i don't think if you just sit at the back of the bunch riding for a average (to improve your seeding)-not really racing,aero wheels is not important

R230.00 for a Campag C9 chain on CRC ,not to bad considering it is the old Record chain and will outlast most 9spd chains,but as you said it is a road chain and not mtb

Leave it as it is ,very strong and safe frame had one ,written off -head on with a car .Was to expensive to repair-(back to Belguim for a tube replacement). Best frame i had.
