  1. I have a Raleigh road bike, tri bike and 2 x dual suss mountain bikes (RDS and Marathon). Not one of them has ever let me down or broken and I always have a great time when riding any of them. I don't ask for more than that from a bike. For some reason people tend to be snobs about bike brands, (call them brand whores if you like) and they have a public forum here to spout their rubbish. These are the same people who support Hallmark holidays like Mothers day. Marketers love them because they are easy to sell stuff to. Have at it.
  2. I would have thought that fitting a towbar would double the value of an Atos. In scrap if nothing else, due to the extra weight.
  3. I must have missed the memo that said all single track must be riden only downhill, especially if there is a different up route available via jeeptrack. Some of us ride up the Tokai singletrack because it is more of a challenge compared to riding up the jeeptrack. To be told we are in your way because you aren't prepared to improve your riding skills and fitness by doing the same is a bit much don't you think.
  4. Justin a case in point here is tyres. Kenda Nevegals from CRC are R300 each landed in SA at my door, VAT etc paid. They retail in Cape Town for between R490.00 and R650.00 depending on where you go to be ripped off. There is no way I am supporting my local dealer at those margins. Anyone who needs 26x2.1 Nevegals, I am bringing in 20 of them as we speak. R350.00 each. That's R50.00 per tyre for my effort and you won't find them cheaper anywhere in the country.
  5. Exactly. I'm old enough to be your grandfather!
  6. Great pics guys. Any of no 1400.
  7. www.mytrainingday.com Worked for me.
  8. Even the Virus writers don't write software that runs on a Mac.
  9. I once saw an ice cream guy on one of those 3 wheel ice cream bikes who was totally out of control going down a hill. He was ringing his bell like an epileptic leper shouting ? Acciiiiident, Acciiiiident?
  10. That is an awesome photo. Rule of 1/3rds to perfection.
  11. Johan I think that most people have learnt to 'tune out' the adverts on web sites. I can't recall one advert that I have clicked on or even read in Months. (Other than the one that had the stupid spooky laugh on mouse over and I don't even remember the brand of the advert, just my annoyance at it).
  12. If your license plate is obscured then you are breaking the law and you are the real criminal. Or would you like there to be a line drawn in the sand with the severity of offence that must be commited before law enforcement kicks in. so you've never broken the speed limit? always put money in the parking meter? always paid your taxes (on time)? I'm the most law abiding person I know. I always pay my taxes, always pay for parking and in fact always do my civic duty. If everyone else in our country did the same we would have far less anarchy. I have been driving since 1978 and in that time I have had 2 fines totaling R130 rands. Both were for speeding, both were my fault and both I paid.

    WTF???

I can't be alone in wondering what the absolute hell is going on here? That's not a caption, by the way, although I suspect that the bloke in the middle might well be thinking something along those very lines.

  15. I saw you riding that pink wheeled beauty in Rosmead Avenue this morning. Were you having a bad helmet day or what?
  16. The Warthogs who commute are doing this. The next step is to get bibs printed with this on. Anyone got any contacts?
  17. Hows that for unfair. I'm 5 years too old for the trial and 15 years too young for a pensioners card. And on top of that I had to pay Jeroen to setup my bike earlier in the year. (worth every little cent though) Other than that I fit all the criteria.
  18. Next Friday is also the court date in Simonstown of the guy who allegedly killed the cyclist in Glencairn last year. Maybe ride in the opposite direction this time and kill two birds with one stone.
  19. I've been using Kenda Nevegals with Stans fluid for more than 2 years and I have never had an issue. Without Stans (or similar) in the tyre the tubeless system is a complete waste of time. I suspect that the warning is in case an American falls off his bike, breaks a finger nail, and tries to sue Kenda.
  20. Please let us know where and when it will be available in Cape Town. I am very keen to try it but need enough time before IronMan to train with it and make sure it will work for me.
  21. Any idea of the pricing, compared to Hammer fo instance. I find the Hammer gel works very well but the price has gone up dramatically in the last few Months.
