  1. yeah but training for a century is fun for me, deciphering vitalities ever changing minefield is not. This thread helps. I know why its like that though, if they made it easy then they'd have to reward everyone, its their way of keeping the costs down.
  2. you need to get off the 4x4 forums, that place is toxic
  3. I do somehow get the feeling they are connected to to Piehl in someway, perhaps they were his Attorneys on retainer. Whatever the reason, Kudos to them. May justice prevail
  4. this is one thing I found very frustrating before I joined and even whilst I was a member. Getting a straight answer to things. It seems one needs to spend a large amount of time familiarizing yourself with all the ins and outs and loopholes and nuances especially when it comes to vitality. Just seems like way to much admin to me.
  5. unfortunately I use them way to often, but that is out of convenience (they are less then 1km from my house) and lack of other options. Leroy Merlin is about 1.5km from home, but the local branch just never seem to stock what I'm looking for. Have often followed a stream of cars out of LM and into BW. Really wish there was a proper hardware store close by, not a hardware supermarket.
  6. sounds like many big businesses in SA then, the numbers that go through to humans are not answered, the automated systems are useless, if you're lucky your email gets an auto response but nothing more
  7. what are you pegging at here ? 🤣
  8. it would make a great feature wall in my workshop/shed, but unfortunately I need to pack them in like sardines and have them easily removable for the girls.
  9. park at circus and ride around to the other gate, its a good warmup.
  10. I reported an ad on FB that was using Takealots logo but was very clearly not even an SA scamster. FB did nothing, but at the same time also tweeted about it. About a week later one of the local news sites was reporting on it, still nothing from FB.
  11. it was very much closed 2 weeks ago when I was there. Doubt it will open for a long time.
  12. Thread revival But I'd like to give a shout out to Mike at Finish Line Cycles. Was on the hunt for a used bike for my eldest daughter, decided to give Finish Line a call and see what they had. Mike was exceptional, was sending me pics of bikes before we even finished our conversation. Unfortunately they did not have what we wanted in our budget, but we'll be visiting there on the weekend to get a new helmet for the youngest daughter.
  13. thanks I'll take a look at this when I have youtube access
  14. With my daughters moving to bigger bikes I need to move them (the bikes that is ) out of the garage and into the shed, but this will require a solution along the lines of a steady rack. But there is noway I'm paying R1700 per bike for steady rack, doesnt matter how good it is. So what alternatives for something similar, basically I need vertical wall mount that I can swivel. I saw someone on the web that took a non swivel rack and mounted it to a heavy duty hinge. I'm not opposed to that idea, also not opposed to making something myself. Just need some ideas
  15. The sun is rising later these days. 9 Local Legends on one ride, it might be time for a new route.
  16. Attorneys were on Jacaranda FM this morning. Sounds like they have their ducks in a row, lets hope the judical system doesnt fail them
  17. I firmly believe this is why I never felt the need to binge on alcohol. It was there, you wanted it you took it, just let the parent know you took it so they dont blame the help. I was drinking sips of beer with my dad on a sunday whilst we watched the F1 since I was 10 years old, when I was old enough I'd have a full one.
  18. Over many years my Dad has had business visitors from Germany and Belgium, we have often entertained them. One thing that has been common with all of them is that if they are driving they do not touch alcohol, but when they are not driving they go big.
  19. Beautiful sunrise this morning.
  20. I've been that oke at the braai my entire life. You get used to it, and if you hang with the same crowd they get used to you not drinking. But be prepared for the opposite when you do decide to indulge in a glass of something. Personally I dont understand the obsession with drinking yourself silly.
  21. but if you dont pay your TV license then you're in deep k@k priorities are so screwed

    Ride 4 Sight

that what I mean, it goes around the back, so if I take the N3 (by car) I can enter from the front and still do a lap of SBR ?

    Ride 4 Sight

Am I right in saying access to SBR from the N3 should not really be a problem on the day
  24. not the cradle, didnt want to start a new thread. I'm not sure exactly why I'm triggered by this, but I am. Starting my ride this morning, about 1km from home, enjoying the brief moment of quiet on the streets at 5:30 before the town wakes up. I'm aware of some bicycle lights that were in the distance behind me approaching, next thing I hear a shout from about 20 - 50m back, "KEEP LEFT" . At first I was like WTF? I only recall seeing 2 lights, but maybe there is an entire group. Then I was , but I'm keeping left WTH, also there are no cars anywhere in sight. And what comes past me, 2 guys in some Honey something or other kit. Thats it. Normally I'm chilled on my morning rides, but these okes somehow triggered me this morning. Just be cool man. Those Strava segments will be there tomorrow again.
