  1. Maybe my ride this morning did not de-stress me enough and I was seeing things that were not there. @wesdrakesecond response cleared things up. Anyway, you got some bumps on your thread, hopefully it brings more entrants for you.
  2. did you, a promoter of an event, just call me a troll ? For your information, I was actually interested in the event, not for 2022 due to current circumstances but certainly was a possibility for 2023. An idea of cost would help make that decision. If you're going through the trouble of posting all the other info and a banner why exclude the cost. I must now go clicking on further links. Links that are blocked at the draconian place of work I'm at (somehow bikehub has not hit their radar to be blocked yet).
  3. 🤬 spoke to soon. Unplugged it last night from charge and the green light indicating its charging stays on. light wont turn on or anything. Going to try and open it, perhaps just needs some TLC.
  4. but the rest of the info was posted here, dont see why the cost was left out. and by the way, not singling out these guys here, see this way to often, its like organisers are embarrassed about the costs.
  5. All the information except the cost?
  6. some say all you need is a long paved section and a raw sewage water crossing.
  7. I used to do exactly the same, then many years ago tried to get a faulty appliance warrantied and it was pointed out. Went back and checked on other appliances and they all state similar regards to original plugs and cabling. But as has been stated earlier, you can still plug it into dodgy multiplugs or even worse, Eskom power and keep the warranty.
  8. sounds like the customers that dont want to spend the full price on a new car, but they want their used car to be in the same condition or better than a new one.
  9. as per someone else further up, a perfectly working house does not exist. There will always be a door or cupboard or tap or something that has a "quirk
  10. stupidly that voids your warranty right there and then.
  11. so do I. But TWT responded to my email sent on saturday, to which I let them know the unit is working. They have provided a few possible reasons why it could have happened and have recommended that I spray some Tool-In-A-Can inside the unit just in case.
  12. aggh no Vettie Heal up quick. my guess is having to pull out of the race hurts more than the neck right now.
  13. and its working again. I left it in my drawer. But I'm the type of person that will keep checking. Pushed the button this morning and it turned on, did everything its supposed to do. So I've plugged it in to charge now. Very strange, but happy I dont need to buy a new one.
  14. I've been happy with the quality. this is the first issue I've had, and to be fair the kind of rain I was riding in was more like riding through a waterfall
  15. I saw your name as the last person to post in this thread and I feared the worst, glad to see its not what I thought. Francois has fought a hard fight, we pray that he still has the energy left to keep the fight going.
  16. i got caught in a thunderstorm on thursday morning, lights where on and stayed on, turned them off when I got home. Friday morning I try and switch the front light on, it turns on then turns off straight away. Tried twice and then decided its probably just the battery that needs charging. When I got home from work on friday I plugged it in and the charge light would not come on, decided to leave it plugged in as maybe its really really flat. Went out for a few hours when I came back it still was not charging. Hoping that its something cheaply and easily fixable, but based on the weather I rode in it might have gotten water in somehow. Based on this thread I've popped two wheels trading an email, lets see if they can help.
  17. Mike Patey on Youtube builds aeroplanes. His latest build "scrappy" is a bush plane for search and rescue. He incorporated mounting points on each wing for electric motorbikes, including plug points for charging them.
  18. you DO know that despite the similarity in spelling, there is infact no Alcohol in Alcolin right ?
  19. ** waiting here for 29er prices to plummet, because you know, old tech now and you wont get tyres for them anymore **

  21. Into a thunderstorm. Usual morning loop around the airport, weather was overcast but dry, I took a slight detour to avoid a flooded road. Halfway through the ride the heavens opened. Nothing to do but keep moving. At one stage the rain was pelting me from the right, I had to close my right eye because it was getting stung, glasses were taken off long ago because I could no longer see through them.
  22. I'm revisiting this. Just phoned the resort, you can only used their bikes for 1 hour at a time and then you have to return them. meh, My thoughts, since my MTB is a 26" piece of rubbish I'll take my road bike and the wife and kids MTBikes. That way I can head out early morning for a few hours of riding and if the family wants to ride the trails I can get one of the resort bikes and ride with them. Or Leave the road bike, take the MTB and the families bikes and have a low mileage week. Either way I'm going to now have to take the trailer.
  23. I see there is an e-bike experiment happening over the course of the event. https://www.bicycling.co.za/events/electric-storm-strikes-at-2021-munga/
  24. and that is just the official figure, pretty sure if they could track all the home made brews etc. that figure would be much higher. Sad really. We recently had one guy dismissed for drinking on the job.
  25. note I said stereo type. You are probably as far from the stereo type as you can get
