I have the OzTrail Blue tongue 2L ( https://www.oztrail.com.au/products/2l-blue-tongue-hydration-pack ) It has an additional space for a 2nd 2L bladder giving you 4L total - haven't used a second bladder in it yet, but 15L space gives you plenty to use ito extra tubes, jacket, etc. But as with everything else, local stock seems to be an issue.

Don't think it will be necessary for another bike fit. Measure the distance between the nose of the seat and the top cap of your headtube and make sure you get the same distance when you fit the new seat.

That's really unfortunate. I had to claim a frame and the service I received from Silverback themselves have been brilliant so far. Yes, I had to wait for about 5 months for the frame (thanks Covid) , but they arranged a loan frame to get me cycling until their factory could send the new frame. And they've done away with the plastic downtube cover and routed all cables internally now As for the bike shop that initially handled my claim........suffice to say they won't see me again.

At just under R50k (stand corrected) I would also look at the Silverback Stratos 1. 120mm travel, GX drivetrain and standard dropper post. It will handle anything you can throw at it.

My daughter currently rides an Avalanche Prima Donna (really low end spec wise) and after the third bloody tube, I looked at going tubeless. With the help of @ChrisF we managed to do a tubeless conversion using her standard avalanche rims. Bought two tubeless tyres from Specialized (Butcher & Purgatory in 27.5") and haven't looked back. So I'd think that going tubeless with your current wheels should be possible - I'm sure some of the good folk here might have a 29ér tubeless tyre to pass on for testing before you fork out the $$$'s for new tyres.

My daughter is 1.57 at the age of 9 - she's currently on a ladies small frame 27.5 and it works very well for her. As Steady Spin said - how tall is he and take it from there.

hello all, Does anyone in the Cape Town area perhaps have a set of tubeless 27.5 tyres they have been thinking of binning, please?

Sounds like the tyre not seating properly in that spot. Best would be to remove the tyre completely, clean the bead and reseat the tyre with new sealant. Could be that the tyre's bead in that particular spot is damaged as well
