  1. There is basically no supply of bikes in this price point from factory, so although it may be a good PR move, it wouldn’t really be beneficial or viable.
  2. Rode my 12speed boost bike on an 11speed cassette last week, on a Hammer trainer. Just changed the spacers to boost for the frame. 6x4min intervals, no issues. Use .erg mode on your trainer and use the device or program to adjust resistance or import a training file. Find a gear that doesn’t tick. Although , I was able to shift through most of the block without issues, obviously didn’t go to the limits of the cassette.
  3. Better pictures to follow next week...
  4. Finally getting my own garage in 4 months time (hopefully) and starting to collect my tools. A compressor is the first ‘big’ item on the list and need some advise on what to get. Just going to be used for regular home use, I.e. tubeless, drying chains etc. We are going to be in a small complex so started looking at the ‘silent’ 25L options from Ardendorff. Is this a good option or should I look at something else? If so, what should I be looking at? Don’t want to drop 6k on something that isn’t going to be used properly, will rather spend that ZAR on the workbench and drawers.
  5. XTR = lightweight, probably titanium bolts which are soft. If they were over torqued, it weakens the bolt. The chances of getting a warranty for this, is next to none.
  6. Heard a debate today and interested to hear peoples feedback on who cleans their own bike and who gets someone else to do it for them.
  7. Road or MTB? What spec level? Disc or non-disc?
  8. Kloof Nek Strava segment - avg. of 8,1% gradient so thanks for confirming my point.
  9. Aero gains trump weight gains up to a gradient of 7%. Lighter isn’t always faster.
  10. The cables on the Cannondale can be run fully internal so you won’t see them, if that is one of the draw backs for you.
  11. There is a massive supply problem. Delay times for some items are over a year from factory (probably even longer now). International demand has gone through the roof and the international supply cannot cope and factories are unwilling to expand as they see it as a short-lived spike. In these times, there is no time to shop around and delay your purchase, chances are when you return the item will be sold and most likely not attainable in the regular time frame. Adding to this, shipping costs have basically tripled, so even though the R/$ is stronger, prices will most likely increase slightly. They predict we will be out of this mess towards the end of 2022. Hopefully that is worst case scenario.
  12. You can also buy direct on their website. https://www.cadencenutrition.com/collections/all
  13. Attended a braai with some friends to celebrate him having a kid. 3 of us got symptoms on the same day and the 4th (Asymptomatic) find out he had it when he tried to go for an operation. 1st time I let my guard down and got hit.
  14. Annually or 80-100 hours to keep things crisp. Your LBS should be able to do a lower leg and aircan service. For a full rebuild it’s best to send it down to Omnico (Fox agents) or get your LBS to send it down for you.
  15. Reread the post again, they mention former u23 world champ. This year is going to be good. Fingers crossed we see some racing.
  16. Tested positive on the 16th of December. Had temperatures, body aches, headache, dizziness, raised heart rate, kidney pain and no taste/smell. Raised heart rate was for about 3 days. Went for a full medical, lung function, ECG, stress ECG and a check up with the doctor. Said everything looked perfect and gave me the go ahead to do Z2 rides for a week, assess how I felt and then start ramping it up back to normal. 3 weeks post first symptoms, I did 3x 8min Z4 efforts with long rests in between and felt normal. Hoping I don’t have any complications further along but no issues so far.

  18. As far as I know, it’s the riders jumping ship for other reasons other than money.
  19. You normally shorten a chain from new, shouldn’t be lengthening. If you’ve cut it too short, you can add a set of extra links from a cut chain with a quick link. Alternatively, buy a new chain and cut at the right length.
