  1. Correction, Solomons are now selling the AMX1 for R6500 brand new: http://www.solomons.co.za/node/1355
  2. I wouldn't pay R8000 for a second hand Tiagra equiped bike. The AMX1's are available brand new from Solomons for 8999, so I would probably go for that if I really wanted a Merckx. As far as the sizing goes, Eddy Merckx dont list their sizes as S, M, L, but in actual centimeters, so not much help there unfortunately.
  3. Thats a stunning frame, although it is also made in Taiwan (even if it has a made in Italy sticker on it). At least it is an Italian brand though.
  4. I would go Athena. Who knows for how long Campag are going to be producing 10 speed groupsets, and at least you will have an upgrade path to Chorus/Record/Super Record.
  5. Fitted T Shirts suck. Just nowhere for the boep to hide.
  6. That's very cool. Have you thought of moving your girlfriend to the garage Just a thought. BTW, what crank is that?
  7. Ask your seller to not mark your parcel as Gift. It raises a red flag at customs and you may end up delaying your parcel. Its also illegal and customs takes it quite seriously. I had a guy from Europe marking a parcel as gift thinking he was doing me a favour. I ended up having to collect personally from customs at Capemail with my original invoice and having to explain why it was marked as gift.
  8. And they don't carry spare wheels with 5 speed freewheels.
  9. Just do your research on the seller. Go through the sellers feedback and enquire about shipping costs before you place your bid. Also do a google search on the sellers ebay user name. Normally if people have been screwed they go moan on forums such as this one. There is no duties on any bicycle goods, but customs may or may not add on vat, i guess it depends on how they feel on the day.
  10. Dude, under no circumstances do you f*** with the badger:
  11. Was more like a screech. Sounded like the bearings were going. The replacement unit was nice and quiet.
  12. Nice pics. I wonder why is he running a Sram crank with his Super Record. Cant be for an SRM because he has a powertap.
  13. I had the same dealings with them. My Fluid started making a noise and they also replaced it no questions asked. They didn't even bother taking the old unit back.
  14. Looks like it. Here's Maserati's take on retro:
  15. I know, what a mouthful. You must excuse me, Klingon is my first language and I struggle a bit with the English.
  16. Welcome to the hub. In case you haven't noticed, your mature, well balanced point of view will not be tolerated, even by those who have been bestowed with the responsibility of moderating the level of maturity of the responses to these posts bla bla bla bla bla bla bla . i.e. Don't take this place seriously.
  17. Is Evins one of the new guys?
  18. The only time he will disrespect the other riders is by breaking the omerta. If he keeps his mouth shut and goes down without taking anyone else with him then he's cool bananas.
  19. I'd say, increasing your gearing is gearing up, and decreasing is gearing down. So when you changing gears you can do the maths in your head, (front size / rear size) x 27 to give you your gear in inches, or x 68.5 to give you your gear in cm. Easy peasy.
  20. Depends where on the highway. As far as I remember it is only "officially" a highway after the Syringa turn off.
  21. Also one of my favourites. One day maybe.
  22. I prefer the current design.
  23. The SL4 looks neat and tidy, my kind of bike. Dogma is just too busy and bling for my tastes.
  24. Is it for sale?
