For the 110 000 000 time... nothing beats Egg Beaters... now let's say it all together now..." NOTHING BEATS ........." The rebuilding thing is BS... had mine to 2 yrs now (SL's) and they have no wear & tear yet.
  4. I'm not dissing the frameset, I think they look sweeeett !!! Had the opportunity of picking up a secondhand one recently but the frameset was too small.
  5. Does Chris stock the Van Tuyl's as well or is that from your private collection? What's the frameset go for?
  6. Can't see why RK will go back to sponsoring the SV's. That's where he started with Bertie, Mark etc. then he moved over to Elite's (to get more coverage?). Why then a step back to SV's? Just wondering....
  7. You and Marius clearly have the same coach
  8. What happened to your Anthem?
  9. C record groupset
  10. Pops, dit beten dat jou kniee gaan *** met daai susp. seatpost!!! Seriously though, I did my first epic with a USE susp. seatpost and I suffered like hell with knee pain and so did a few mates. After that I replaced it with a carbon EC70 for the Transalps and I had no hassles with my knees, but my back suffered... but that could be from the ruthless climbs. Rather just train on your dual and ride it with the dual, your back & knees will thank you for it. The adv. you gain in speed from the HT will be outweighed by the fatigue of getting knocked around on it.
  11. Back to the SHOCK - only buy that seatpost when you're really tired of using your knees... actually, it would just be easier to get the Cycling 6 to smash them with a baseball bat. As mentioned, your seatpost length changes constantly and plays havoc on knees... if you're gonna go that way, rather get a Thudbuster as the parallelogram design reduces this effect.
  12. Mampara - it's pretty sweet, especially if you're ridden hardtails all your life. Adv = lockout rear shock Disadv = Frame's a bit heavy (2.6kg), but lighter parts can solve this. btw - a lot of FS are in the 2.4 - 2.6kilo range, including the Santacruz SL
  13. Wanting: Transrockies Transportugal Ironman Sani2C Swazi Extreme (Adv race)
  14. Pops, we're very close... I'm 1.75 and weight 77kg. My XTC was shod with crossmax xl's(sold them), xt crank and sram 9 with a rockshox team sid. I'll put my granny on it that you won't be disappointed with the Giant, it's an awesome ride. Having said that, I must agree with Marius, the Orbea looks super sweet as well.
  15. Check the geometry out as well. Far as I know the Scale is very compact, suited to short course racing where the Giant is a little more stretched out. My hardtail is an Alum XTC and I love the way that bike feels, but that also depends on your height etc.... what I'm actually saying is you need to ride them !!!
  16. The guy Chris was refering to is Peter Hoft (spel.), the Conti rep in Cape Town. Peter's office is next to Mark's shop (the old Peter Allan Cycles). Call Mark (speak to him personally) for a price on the tyres and see if you have better luck - 949 5219. Far as I know they do come in a UST version.
  17. Gee, all this talk about "sexually charged" is getting me all hot & bothered... I can't wait to get home and rip my wifes g-string off... cause is really chaffing me badly !!!
  18. I think I just c**** in my pants... that's such a sweet ride!!!!
  19. Homer, have you tried Meurants new black route at Delvera? That's also a sweet piece of track, although a bit more technical than Jonkers. We rode out there on Sunday and did the loop... followed by amazing coffee scones... yum!
  20. You need to be wakeup this time of the year, plenty of the slithery buggers chilling out in the sun. Just watch out if you cycle over one that it doesn't get picked up by your knobblies and wrapped around your frame... rather do the biggest damn bunnyhop of your life over him.... and be sure to warn your mates coming down the track behind you!
  21. Gr8 stuff and yea, pity about all the climbing to get back up there.... wonder if we can get ppa to sponsor us a ski lift
  22. I guess when you're that funny you don't need any colour co-ordination !!! eish !!!
  23. you buncha suctions... bet you sat in the front of the class as well
