  1. Maybe I should by the 4iii system for the gravel bike. Sell you that pair, then buy Lindt with the change 🙂
  2. Nope 😞 BTW, I paid abt R13k a pop. Garmin ran a special a while back at less, see the latest price on their site is R14k.
  3. Hi KOM I've bought a set of XC100 pedals last year March. Easy to install and easy to link to your Garmin app and watch. Easy to calibrate. Didn't even bother to fit the Garmin cleats and continued with my Shimano cleats. Be aware to tighten the battery cap of the Left pedal and the end cap of the Right pedal properly. You don't want to lose them. Initial battery life was good for about 100hrs and the replacement (LR44 x 2, Duracell) about 80-90hrs. 2x software updates since March that corrected an issue where the remaining battery life indication was not working properly. Power readouts are 100% stable. This set was installed on my gravel bike and I bought a 2nd set in Sept that I swop between my other bikes, but this was not really needed, since it is very easy to swop the pedals.
  4. Old wheel cheaper to replace vs a new Bora/Zipp/Roval/whateva. Silly question, what is a non competing rider doing in that busy area?
  5. Better than Hoedspruit.....
  6. Nice stat Spidey.. Would love to see how it was in years past. A quick look at my age group (50+) indicates numbers are flattish vs '20 and '18. 2019 was super low due to the tough parcour.
  7. I see Mpumalanga was also a low turnout.
  8. Very clear to me. Just like everything else in South Africa. Don't get caught, a 2nd time nogal!!!
  9. Barberton XCM on a gravel bike might not be the best option.... but I assume you have ridden it before, full marathon?
  10. Ditto, and I talk to Frosty once in a while... Both my coaches tells me to lose weight and do more intervals and to join the club rides. Up to now I'm trying to ignore them...
  11. You can still trust the Rooiwal World Champs!!
  12. Exactly. In a lekker crosswind it's called a gutter... Normally takes one hard gutter to get rid of them. Ride up front and don't get caught behind a dead/tired wheel!!
  13. As we all know, it's called bunch riding. Many wheelsuckers in every race and every bunch, but a few honest riders will contribute to the pacing of the bunch...
  14. No idea, we normally stay close to town. Note that Karoo rock pieces can be very sharp!!
  15. Hi Neville, there are plenty!!! From River Destiny you can turn East and at Norvalpont go North to Gariep, or continue and turn North a little later to use a secondary road to go to Gariep via the dam wall. Plenty option to the look-out point or via the bridge West of the wall. Then the road into the town on top of the koppie. Have a look at the Strava segments in the area. Plenty short and steep climbs and lots of drags. Enjoy, I love that area
  16. I started on a 26er Talon with an oil fork in 2008. Build like a tank!! You'll be happy!!
  17. The best post of this thread... I hope those 2 angels get burnt... as well as their so called parents...
  18. Carnavon is the 1st hint - very, very, very small place. Highly unlikely home for a cyclist with a hydration pack.
  19. True, true, but all these youngsters that arrived on the scene.... Exciting racing awaits!!!
  20. What a disaster!!! I so much feel for him. Had a pretty meh year after the Giro. Last year it was the Tokyo disappointment, and this the Worlds. Will he or his great rival WvA ever win the Worlds? Time is running out....
