  1. My anti-virus lights up like a christmas tree .... does not like this site at all.
  2. Some say he embodies the revenge of the math nerds ...
  3. Question - is it possible to block a member, as one can do on the forum side of the Hub ?
  4. We did Durbanville - Klipheuwel - Philladelphia. Passing Old Malmesbury. Perfect riding weather, even with the breeze on the return leg. Lots of cyclists out and about. Might have passed you.
  5. One morr CRUCIAL difference between these two ... A friend have bought a couple of bikes from BikeMarket. They made a real effort to fix issues !!! They clearly allow for this in their business model. WeBuyCars .... handy for SELLING .... do a bit of a search about their lack of support when issues arise .... buy from them with eyes wide open !!!!
  6. @'Dale you would have LOVED this change of season weather. What a lovely day to be outside. LOTS of roadies !! Any idea of upcoming events ?
  7. What a dare .... in less than 15 degrees. With the promise of light rain in the air. That must have been chilly !!! Just to raise more funds for PAWS, the Potchefstroom SPCA.
  8. What a CHAMP !! Shaun jy is n yster !!
  9. Sealed bearings vs cup-and-cone ..... Cheap sealed bearings is a money pit !! Cup.and.cone can be serviced easily and can give you many years of good service.
  10. MIPS Everythings else is just personal preference. Different helmets fits differently .... test before you buy
  11. AAAAAaaaannnndddd ..... Get ready for the Vitality goal posts to move sooner rather than later. Adrian Gore has his eye set on the R280 miljard worth of home loans from Discovery clients. Guess what .... "adjustable interest rates as per the clients credit profile" (loosely translated)
  12. Dankie Been interesting watching his journey on the WA group. Hy MAG maar trap !!
  13. Please keep us posted about the longevity of that belt. BMW motorcycles have stayed away from chains as much as possible. Drive shafts on the larger bikes, and belt drive when the 650GS was first launched. The Dakar 650GS came out with a chain. And when people started riding the normal 650GS off road BMW stopped using the belt drive, and switched to chain drive. Their "promotional garble" was that the belt showed premature wear and tear off road, and that the chain drive was more reliable off road. Some 25 years later and now MTB's go belt drive ....
  14. Any update on the numbers ? How many withdrew ? How many did not make the cut-off ? Any feedback on how they are dealing with the riders that lost a lot of time waiting for returning riders on that climb ?
  15. Makes me wonder ..... How long do they keep photos on their system? Been many years since I was onto the site, power generation side.
  16. Jip, well described. My wife has NO interests in sports, so we were never going to reach any worthwhile levels. Ideally, it would have been nice if only me could join Vitality. Back then this was not an option. Thus my question - any way around this for the modern family, who are willing to move bank, insurance, life etc to maximise benefits ?
  17. Cureosity sake - number of years back the Vitality rewards "fell flat" if a member of the family was not into exercise. Is it still like this ?
  18. Its been rumoured that they are positioning themselves in the event of the NHI ending Discovery Health.....
  19. PMB is a whole different discussion, especially with Discovery Health ALL medical aids MUST provide cover the list of PMB conditions .... BUT, they may apply some requirements, such as using generic equivalents or using network or state pharmacies, etc. There IS a difference between how the different plans cover PMB conditions. PS - some high level discussions at the moment about Discovery Health and how it deals with Rheumatoid arthritis as a listed condition on PMB. Even rumours this may head to court ....
  20. Discovery medical savings plans have gone backwards the last few years. For 2024 the savings was dropped another 5% on all plans. Thats why you are out of savings so early this year. Compare the Core to the Savings and a few thousand rand of your premium for the year goes to "admin". We switched to a Core plan for 2024. The savings amount goes into separate banking account. Account and transaction fees in the order of R15 per month. Well worth the effort to do the maths.
  21. How hot was it today ? Thought the real heat is only coming mid week ...
  22. Ouch !!! 88km stage and so many dont continue 😵
  23. That, and the increasing number of 50+ people doing their first CTCT. 21 may not be a realistic goal for some of us.
