  1. I'll pay that any time for Ironman. Always excellent goody bags, pasta party, awards banguet, a whole weekend of 'fun', and excellent good looking medals. R70,000.00 price money for male and female winners. What do you get at cycle races?
  2. Hmmm, vote with your money. I'm gonna do 3 - 5 cycling races this year, the Jock, R475, what on earth justifies an entry fee like that?
  3. the photos on the net that you view are intentionally displayed blurry. thats to prevent downloading of photos without paying.
  4. Then the only one I can recommend is Tour de Frans cycles in Boksburg, or Toney Impey cycles(though I got RIPPED OF THERE!)
  5. In which area is she?
  6. West Rand cycles. 2k from home, can stop there and have stuff done while waiting(though I don't abuse it), but should the need arise I can count on them. In 8 years had one issue after a service.
  7. go to a couple of shops, he should weigh up his options. And ask other cyclists their opinion. Stay away from Cajees. theres Linden Cycles, NOrthcliff cycles, WestRand Cycles, theLab, SBR... Tour de Frans(?)
  8. Ya, unfortunately we pay European prices, the entry is Euro, price money is euro. shows what our Rands are worth.
  9. Its a thing of the level where you ride. If you can ride up Hekpoort without a granny gear, good for you. Not all are superstrong, not all have the time to train 20hours a day, and rest when they're not training. Most here are probably working 8-5, sit in traffic another 2 hrs, and to train around a workschedule like that takes a lot.
  10. Paying R480(?) pm.
  11. heard just now on 702 a lady phoning about a group riding , in the mist, 5 abreast. Come on people. FFS!
  12. +1 (Magalies Mountains LOL) You don't even have to go that far out. Theres some steep koppies and climbs close to home as well.
  13. Motorists first need to go and take a tape measure, and measure how wide their cars are. Then , compare that to the average width of lanes on South African roads. Then maybe, just maybe they'll realise that there is anough space for all of us on the road. But, nothing, nothing should get in the way of 'God' in his/her car!
  14. So now he can go, train hard and dope more, and be ready for next years Tour. What a joke.
  15. Uhm, well they definately don't stop or slow down for you, even when they're looking you in the eyes.
  16. Heard at 70.3 this weekend one of the pros did ALL his training on IDT!
  17. Not sure if it was a typo, but Triathlon Mag SA listed Buffelspoort in Cape town. So make sure where this is being held.
  18. West Rand Cycles 0119554342
  19. Beat this Height (or lack of it) 1.6 Weight (too much) 73 Front 53,39 rear 12/25
  20. If you are not used to the TT bike rather take the road bike. It takes a while to get used to the low position on the TT bike and if you are not used to it you're gonna suffer with your back. You mean will you use up more energy on the road bike than TT bike ... yes, you are more upright and will have more wind resistance. Wont' help if you are not used to it and have a bad race though.
  21. go and read the thread again, nobody called him a poephol!!!
  22. was probaly figthing before the incident with the cyclists, and then tried to take his anger and frustrations out on cyclists with his car. Why is it that people think they are superior to anything and everybody else in their cars?
  23. I think where its used incorrectly is when its used to dictate a minimum. I mean, if you have R1400 for shoes, and a shop an Sandton sells it, and another in Roodepoort sells it, the Roodepoort should be able to sell it for much less.
  24. Found the hub on the Super Cycling board.
  25. this morning Stephen Grootes on 703 had people phone in on this, and many said it worked, one woman in Sandton calimed it helped her dog with its hip problems.
