  1. Yes I will give the full warranty cause its new. So it is brand new with full warranty that I will honor. I will even provide the slip if needed. Also I already have 4x R500 offers I said no to. I'm also only asking R850 so its not like its the new price of it
  2. You have to love it. Been getting these offers on a R1300 brand new HRM for the past week
  3. So do we add events that allow E-Bikes on that list? Asking for a friend
  4. I just love how no one is recommending Shimano here. I'm running 1x11 X01 currently on a 11-42 setup and I feel the range is good and reliably harder/easier when shifting. I have personally been looking at options as my chain is nearly at replacement stretch and have come to the realisation that a extra gear is not worth the price investment as within the next 6 months something new comes out tanking that pricing. If you like your 2x10 system currently dont change. There is nothing wrong with 2x10 and still gives you a lot more range than the 500% eagle setups will give. My personal opinion would be stick with your 2x10 or if you MUST upgrade go to a 1x11 basic setup and spend the saving in components on new pedals or seat or a new bib etc.
  5. Well... If we want to or not E-bikes are here to stay. I am waiting on the next generation before I pull the trigger on one. I am not selling any of my others but considering cycling is supposed to be fun I truly believe every bike has its place. On a day out with a group on trails it will be great. On days where you want to do long steady pace climbing then there is another bike for the job. I think a lot of people lose focus when a ebike comes zipping past them at 80km on 947 (especially me this year) and I admit if he was close enough i would have thrown him with my Rocky. But at the end of the day you need to be content with what you are doing and if ebike works for you then great I'm deff getting one in 2019 when the next generation comes out as a n+1
  6. How this isnt on page 50 yet for friday is beyond me... For me if its not naked carbon then it needs to be white. But thats just me
  7. Was going to say exactly this. XO1 11-Speed 11-42t for quite some time now on my 1x. Came from a XT M8000 setup and its a lot better than the XT (Personal opinion). Shifting is crisp and for the past year I havent touched my deraleur to set any thresholds. I tend to find that I had to adjust the XT a lot (Personal experience for my riding style) Personally I wont mind having a XT again but if i have a choice it would be SRAM all the way through the bank (I am not sold on the 12-speed yet. My 11-speed is more than capable)
  8. Thats the worse. They might as well throw the chocolate in the trash. Its the same as pinapple on pizza
  9. Just want to add this here. There are new techniques now that dont require fusion of the back. Maybe investigate this option
  10. So I have been struggeling with Lumbar pain on and off over the past 10 years I would say. I finally bite the bullet and went to a Chiropractor. Worst decision of my life. After the 1st session the pain was so bad I was walking like a hunchback for a week. Went back over and over and every time it got worse. It later effected the middle of my back and Neck. After about 4 sessions I decided to stop it as it was causing more pain than it should It's been a month now and I finally feel normal again still with the odd pain in the lumbar if I havent been active for a few days. If I go for a long cycle it seems to open up my Lumbar a lot. When I get lazy and dont cycle for a few days I can feel the pain starting to set in and a general stiffnes in the lower back. My advice would be to let your body flex in its own way. If you arent immobile then there is no need to go to them. On topic though. I have changed my daily med routine and I have actiually been doing surprisingly well with all the ebola walking around me. I would say that i have phlem that I cough up whle riding but other than that no other simptoms so far (this has been for the past 2 months now)
  11. Yea.. One of the best places to ride with an awesome view is officially now not usable.... FFS
  12. I would like if they done a scientific research with close to 100% accuracy of calories burned over 100km. If the so called oval is easier or more advantage making it easier then the calories burned over the 100km will be less on the oval Unfortunately that does not exist and the amount of effort to get from point A to B remains the same with the same about of joules required to complete. This has been proven by science though It might seem better or feel better but the effort is called the placebo effect. Does is make you stronger. In your head for sure. Does it make you faster. In your head sure. The placebo effect gives you the impression you are going faster or quicker uphill but in effect you are just getting stronger or pushing harder to make it work and justify the purchase. Out of 9 research papers I have read 4 said Yes it might work but with a negligible 1%... 5 Said it's all in the head So for me I will be sticking to Round until there is definitive proof that it works.
  13. That's what she said Hectic though and the sole reason I own a car
  14. Top of Klapperkop just as the sun starts to set
  15. I really enjoyed it. Was nice and clean most of the time. Had 2 slips in the gutters but didn't fall luckily. Saw a chick with pink fall hard and saw someone in the tunnel fall quite hard and then heard how someone behind me fell his "*** af" on pretty much the same section where the chick fell. All in all 9/10 race for me. Will do it again next year No... Just no. My legs were burnt toast at that point
  16. Dunno. Not on speaking terms with him. But I had my V999 long before we wanted to buy the Element. Got the 2016 Element 970 RSL from @AdrianDJ. Super stand up guy and without anything but pedals it came in at 11.1kg So your V999 at 11kg is questionable
  17. Also have the XL frame. My 10.3kg consists of the following. Fox 32 Float Kashima Raceface Carbon handlebars S-Power 155 Sadle DT Swiss x1700 Spline TWO (Rocket Ron 580g tyres front and back with only 60ml of Stans fluid) Saddle bag with (2 bombs, bomb adapter, 20 piece multi tool, Plug kit, Extra valve and Chain Link) A pump on the side and 2x Bottle cages. Guide RSC Brakes (These are light) SRAM XO1 Rear Mech and shifter SRAM PG 1130 11-42t Cassette XO Carbon Crank Direct Mount 34T Rapide Chainring (Spider alone drops like 50g) Maybe see where you can drop some weight cause 11kg is quite heavy without the Saddle bag and other extras.
  18. Reviving this dead thread ... Here is my Vertex 999 RSL 2014 Recently swapped the Rims with DTSwiss X1700 Spline TWO's and weight officially is now 10.3kg with a Saddle bad full of ****, A Pump, 2x bottle cages and pedals (M520) Photo compliments of CTCT (aka Argus)
  19. Am I just being stupid here. Can anyone point me to the route links? Here is the Link to the map http://www.juma.co.za/wp-content/uploads/HOLLARD%20JUMA%20MAP.pdf
  20. One suggestion I might add to the Classifieds is could we potentially add a option where you select Wheel Size and Frame Size to ask "Frame Material" as I tend to look at ads and think nice bike in my budget then go into the add to see... Allu frame... next Not related but it would help some of us focus on what we are looking for considering we have Allu or Carbon now as mainstream options as well
  21. What I have noticed though is when selling something if its not a buy of the year people in general is not interested. Eg. I have a PRC Carbon seat post 27.2 that's new almost 3k. Even at 1.5k negotiable no one is interested in it. I see quite a lot of carbon seat posts even at R750 just sitting around not being bought and these are quite expensive items new. I think budget related people will buy only when it reaches that once in a lifetime deal price point hence the i will pay 10% of new price offers. I find myself recently asking "Value vs Offering" questions a lot. R18 for a pack of Simba chips is just crazy considering R15 for Flannigans currently was quite expensive less than 3 months ago as an example. I don't think the bike parts we are paying new is worth the value. R2200 for a 11 speed cassette for instance. New prices of items are over inflated by quite a large margin and its just pulling the 2nd hand market with it and people cant afford it Why buy a 2nd hand cassette for R1500 in like new condition when less than 8 months ago you bought a new one for R800... the dynamics just doesn't make sense
  22. So I initially went cold turkey 2016 October. In 6 months I lost 34kg by just riding daily 5-10km and no sugar. I was completely anal on taking in no sugar. I have over the past year reintroduced sugar slowly but I rather than having a whole box of cookies I take 2 and close the cupboard cause in general I am to lazy to walk back to the cupboard to fetch more. The golden rule is to when provided with a choice take the healthier option instead. You wont always have a choice but when you can choose between a green salad with your steak or potato salad the healthier choice would be the green salad. That's what I do at the moment and it works for me. Ps. Well done on the commitment. I have been there and its a long journey but well worth it
