If you have enough money for a rebuild, why did you not take your wheel to the LBS in the first place? Nice story though.

185........... most likely a large at max. could even be medium. I am 183 and had a M Merida which felt to small. Now have a large 29er Giant which fits like a glove.

Thank for all the replies..... I had them on my previous bike and sometimes used them. Have not done any long rides yet. (2hrs+) My new bike (Anthem 29) has got nice wide bars. On my first few rides I experienced quite a bit of numbness in the hand, Not any more and I am quite enjoying the width of the bars. I don't really want to give up any of that width to fit the bar-ends. Suppose I should try. Can always remove them again.

I had some Geax AKA's fitted last week. (29er) To early to judge them yet.

Does everybody use them these days? Do they really add benefit to your riding?
