Same, I don't wear mine anymore because they have gone transparent. But they are about 2yrs old, suppose you can't expect them to last forever. A couple years ago I had a pair of Castelli shorts that done the same thing.

This route follows "wave runner" instead of "concrete climbs", but it is still pretty rocky to get to "pomp huis". You turn right instead of left at the bottom of "concrete climb".Van_Gaalens.gpx

Depends on lots of factors, rather buy yourself a chain-checker tool they are not expensive. Will be worth the money spend.
