  9. Good news for teams like GreenEdge. They can pick up riders much easier now. And at bargin prices
  10. I heard that CyclingSA did not get the funding from the Lotto.
  11. Does anyone have the contact details for Cycles Africa ? Thanks in advance
  12. The new system of ladies racing is going to expose the weaker riders. The will be no ladies team tactics. Basically the strongest riders will survive in the bunch and sprint at the finish. The past two years, where there were a few teams going head to head, the racing was good. The average speeds were good. But one can not compare an average speed of a lady, who raced in a ladies start group, compared to a lady who started in a A,B or C group. It is very different sitting on a wheel of a guy for 100km as apposed to making the racing for 100km. I get so tired of people asking, "but my girl friend rode a better time than one of your riders" One of the disadvantages is that younger riders will find it very difficult to find teams. The plus side of the new system, is that very few riders who want to race internationally, will be better prepared.
  13. I think the new structure will have it's benefits as well as it's short comings. It's a long term plan, which will improve the quality of riders and racing. Yeah for sure, some riders who can't hack it at the front of the race will be down graded. This will also improve the overall speed of a race. Riders of simular seeding index, regardless of age are grouped together. Someone told me a simular system is working in the USA and UK. I also see the negative side of this as well. Many riders from outside of Gauteng will be at a slight disadvantage because of current seeding. Exposure for sponsors, .......might be a small problem for the smaller pro or club teams, who do not have a tv station sponsor. There are other means of improving your return on investment, besides tv. One thing for sure, racing is gonna be flat out. Cat 1 with all the kids (jnr's) playing with pro teams.........lots of crashes. Racing is going to exciting.

  18. So how do you tell if a politician is lying? Well said ............
  19. I hope there is no cover up. If there is, then CyclingSA should answer to Parliment. The same way SA Rugby gets to answer to Parliment. If a rider gets caught, regardless of which team he or her belongs to ...... should face up to the crime and needs to brought to book.
  20. I know its was not one of my girls, because i was not in Bloem for any hearing ............
  21. Boys and Girls, it's popcorn time .................... so who got caught ???????
  22. Ag shame
  23. I have to agree with Veloce about the Tour of Durban .......... Great venue, great route but there is something is wrong. There were so many casual riders on the same route as the race. People from KZN complain about the lack of road races in the province. Is it the standard of race organisation, route or costs ?
