  1. You think thats a problem? Try a Savage Tuesday, gone are the days when it was MEGA to go sub 10 minutes up there. Okes banging out 9:22 up there, 5 top 20 of all times and there are no E bikes, just okes getting faster. When Ben O'Connor or Matt Beers times dont cut it for your morning group ride. I wish I had an eBike to blame. I still aiming for a sub 11. But at least they wait at coffee.
  2. No good deed goes unpunished: Was so lekker though! Worked a lot less for that 99er seeding than the Tour de PPA one.
  3. My only concern is that sometimes I find myself over the white line as someone has decided to pull in or over randomly. So most of time its avoiding action. But sitting there for prolonged periods is the issue.
  4. Cam almost opted for it as well! He downloaded the 78km onto his Garmin. (Luckily he wasnt on the front)
  5. So I reckon Jason and David seeding will improve from B, Cam as well. Tony and Klyde finished same time as B, and they were seeded C, so also probably will help their seeding. Think the constant 2.5 hours of suffering will probably help in the future more than the seeding.
  6. Had a blast from C, had about 12 Savages that pulled through. A hard day out, hoping Diesel doesnt notice. Jason whose been riding Tuesdays with us recently pulled on some Savage kit, must have added 25w to his FTP, he went off with 17km to go. Was great seeing okes bury themselves, not sure how well we did for the whole improving seeding, but it was fun. WhatsApp Video 2026-02-22 at 12.26.44.mp4
  7. That factor is wild. Was a lekker day out!
  8. Think thats the long route.
  9. Looking forward to it in CL
  10. Its only when there is an accident and the lawyers send you a letter etc that it becomes an issue.
  11. Have found that people out that side are a little sketchy with driving, not staying in their lanes etc. Glad you ok. There are cameras out there, maybe its time to ride and post it more often.
  12. How do we do your route and not MongooseMan's route, yours has 60m less climbing
  13. Think its just a safety thing, I find that if in a gravel/road ride the person has dropped handle bars its chilled. Find if they have MTB wide bars in a big group it gets a little sketchy.
  14. Think thats always a pet peeve, where there are 9 people rolling all day and then on the final drag, as if they sprinting for 174th place and go crazy, as if its Roubaix.
  15. I think you onto something there though, there needs to be some sacrifice from the A people drop backers. I mean, unless its a real mate, I am not dropping back to get a worse personal seeding and doing more work.
  16. 👀
  17. I have an idea, bring back 12 hours of Killarney, make it a compulsory event to get into top 4 bunches in PPA. Massive groups, 12 hours of learning to bunch ride, ambulances nearby. Lots of birds lots of stones. Waldo would love it.
  18. I think its more of an issue that there are just less funrides for people to get used to bunch riding and alot of people train solo or small groups. A lot of people that join Tuesday morning rides get a shock as need to pick up on the group riding skills, many really strong on climbs from Zwift etc, but are forever touching brakes etc, but after 5 weeks they are a lot less twitchy. Think going a little deep here, cheating would imply that you have to start in your seeding group, and if you drop back that would be cheating, but thats not the case. If you reseeded once a year, didnt allow people to drop, you would kill road cycling spending cash on events to just ride on the front every week, win your batch, learn no bunch riding skills because you are sitting on the front and not within the bunch.
  19. Why is it the last road event for the year for them? Tour de PPA, WP road league, CTCTT?
  20. Can you imagine if they took the road route through 1.8km of gravel before Vissershoek... I think which ever day that traffic in the farmlands is going to be bad. I think orgnaizers did a lekker job!
  21. Just thought would pop in to say thank you and well done to the organizers of the event. Was really well run, bike marshals were good, all the touch points were top notch! Was lekker riding back through the front of the school remembered my first 99er ending in front of the school, I think there was a lot less development around there back then though.
  22. The radar I found helps in certain scenarios, changing lanes or crossing an off ramp. But does not prevent drunk drivers
  23. This is so sad, RIP to the cyclists. Massive prayers for the loved ones
  24. Have a lekker Jol! Its going to be sick!
  25. Here is a good article and then some good comments and thoughts: https://www.roadbikerider.com/chronic-anal-fissures-cyclist/ I know someone that had to deal with chronic other issues down there, its a tough one, heal and come back.
