  1. Hagar, vanmartin, I'm looking for R800. They retail for about R1400 new.
  2. I've used the Thule Hang On 9102 for the last 2 years on my Fiesta. Drove down to CT and back for the Argus, no issues. BTW, Its for sale, doesn't fit my new car.
  3. I think some clarification is necessary: A driver's licence allows you to operate a motor vehicle of a specific class; The taxes that we pay allow us access to our roads.
  4. Thanks guys. That should keep me busy between tomorrow and my Sunday lunchtime swim
  5. I'm going down to swim the Mile this weekend and I'm taking my road bike with. Does anyone know of any good routes in the area of around 50-60km?
  6. I think it does. Due to the same sort of time constraints I only get on my bike on weekends, but I manage to spin 3 or 4 times a week. I feel the most benefit with my cadence and also my recovery times. I seem to be able to recover quicker between hard efforts.
  7. I don't think I have ever seen someone handle a fork in that manner before?????
  8. Slowpoke, I hope you've put his reg. number on the Arrive Alive site. That way, if he is a repeat offender, something might get done.
  9. Here's the link http://www.arrivealive.co.za/pages.asp?mc=call&nc=background
  10. Old Vereeniging Road also forms part of my regular route. I also avoid riding that route alone. Generally, 5 or more riders makes me feel a lot safer.
  11. I can cross chain with my 10 speed Chorus. However, I try not too. Anyway, you can normally find another gear thats more efficient.
  12. According to the Arrive Alive website, wearing of helmets is compulsory. http://www.arrivealive.co.za/pages.asp?mc=cycling&nc=compulshelmets
  13. I regularly join the same group and I've noticed the same thing. Speaking for myself, I would rather spend the extra on a helmet and enjoy my R25k bike than have to sit in a wheelchair and watch it gather dust!
  14. That's really the only way that business in this country will correct service levels. If you stick to shopping at retailers that offer an acceptable level of service, the ones that aren't will be forced to re-evaluate. Of course, it helps if you tell them that their service levels are up to
  15. Figured I'll give my LBS the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, if I'm not happy I can always swop it for a Campy chain.
  16. Ummmm....Thanks guys I think I'll give it a try. That way, if it doesn't work, I can keep it in my saddlebag to use on "oupas" that hoot at me.
  17. Hi All, I have been haunting The Hub for a couple of months now and I thought I would, timidly, post a question to all the hubbers out there. My road ride is a Giant TCR with a 10s Campy Chorus groupset. My chain needs replacing and my LBS suggested that I could replace it with an Ultegra or Dura-Ace 10s chain. Are there any compatability issues involved? I have been buying from my LBS for a number of years and have no cause to complain. Any advice/comments will be gratefully received. P.S. I am an equal opportunity groupset user with Deore LX on my GT Avalanche, so I am hoping this won't degenerate into a Campy vs Shimano thread.
