So, what would a build like that set you back? And who would build it for you?
  2. Need to reset it at the start of each ride. Press both buttons together in any screen except for odometer and it will revert to zero readings.
  3. Occasionally. Why?
  4. Thanks
  5. So, after my last really muddy ride my chain started jumping around all over the cassette. Fine, thats what mountain biking is all about. Anyway, bike washed, gleaming, I've adjusted the rear derailleur and its perfect. Chrisp shifts, no jumping, heck its way better than just after visiting the LBS. EXCEPT....... it takes 2 shifts to get to the second ring on the cassette. Do I need more or less tension on the cable? BTW its a Shimano LX Rapid Rise rear derailleur.
  6. So....... No comments at all on the Hutchinsons? Anybody tried them, riding them?
  7. Never really considered them. Any good?
  8. I'm looking to purchase new tyres for my dual XC bike. I'm currently running Tioga Extreme XC 2.1 on the front and Tioga Factory XC 1.95 on the rear. Problem is they are heavy, high rolling resistance and shed mud like I shed weight, with difficulty!! In fact, I came to a grinding halt there was so much mud caked between both tyres and the frame and fork. I'm considering the Hutchinson Python 2.0 or Bulldog 2.0 or Maxxis Larsen 1.9 for the rear and 2.0 for the front. I am also considering the Maxxis Crossmark but it seems to only come in 2.1. Any reasons why a should choose one of the above over any other or should I be looking at other options?
  9. Rad. you didn't look like you were suffering too much when I saw you at Swartkoppies and Kliprivier. Congrats, isn't that your best time on that thing?
  10. I paid about R1300 for the Thule 3 bike. If you in Jhb, visit Thule in Woodmead. They are very helpful and will fit the rack for you.
  11. Just seen this on News24. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. (Special reference to the comments below the column). http://www.news24.com/News24/Columnists/Georgina_Guedes/0,,2-1630-2022_2225716,00.html
  12. Does anybody know where we can find the photos?
  13. Agreed, the start was a little chaotic. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the route and the race. i would have preferred the start format to be a mass start, gets the madmen in front and out of the way and lets the slower riders (me) enjoy the route and not have to dive out of the ways of each category's front runners.
  14. Andrewbell, Rad006 is selling a BMC complete. Not sure if its your size, but he'll give you feedback on how it rides etc.
  15. Rad puts his dirty, muddy Anthem INSIDE the car
  16. For budget accommodation you can't beat Merry Pebbles. Has camping and chalets and right on the mountain biking doorstep.
  17. I regularly carry 3 mountain bikes on it. Must be close to the rack's limit of 45kg
  18. I used the Thule ClipOn for almost 2 years without issues.
  19. Nice looking fork. Even lighter than the Reba Race though? Pricing is about the same.
  20. I'm currently building up a Raleigh RDS 9.0 to replace my hard tail. I have the frame (thanks to Mtb Kid) which I need to put a fork to. The Raleigh was specced with the Fox F100 RL which is out of my price range (R3500 to R4000). Any other ideas? I was thinking Rockshox Reba Race or SL, Manitou Black. Good forks, bad forks? A fork I haven't listed? Please help.
  21. Did the 35km. Will definitely ride it again. Only small concern was that the markers were a little off in a couple of places. Otherwise, great race.
  22. Saturday, 1 lap of Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve. Sunday, Winter Challenge (dirt only).
