  6. Summer, I shave. Winter, the more hair I have under my leg warmers, the better I feel.
  7. Going to do a couple of laps of Rietvlei at around 14h00 on Saturday. Taking a friend along who needs to work on his technical skills
  8. Bought a frame from MTBKid (I think?) unseen, no issues. Paid upfront, sent proof of payment through, got it the next day. From PE nogal! Also bought from Klapperkop, no issues. Establishing my credentials as a buyer, right here.
  9. Hi Ane Do you assist in setting up individual training programmes etc, based on the test results?
  10. Quick Question: Do you have to use 20" tubes? Can't you use a normal 26" tube? Why, why not?
  11. Shaun, it happened within sight of the bridge crossing the R59, going out. The bunch I was in was behind the bunch that was involved. A truck passed us, giving us plenty room, I saw the truck pass the next bunch in the distance, and something happened. Couldn't see. Our bunch arrived on the scene and the guy was lying in the road. My thoughts are with his family.
  12. .... How the cyclist knocked down by a truck on the Lido route on Saturday is doing? It looked like a pretty bad situation.
  13. Thanks Azonic. Dumb question, Why is there a weld there? Surely one piece of tubing would make more sense?
  14. Is this a common break with the RDS 9.0? I have a 2006 RDS 9.0 and would hate for the same thing to happen to me.
  15. I have the new XT hubs with the 6 bolt adapter. Had no issues and the 30 odd grams per adapter really hasn't had any negative effect on the performance of the wheels
  16. Thanks DR. The kit I'm referring to is at this link. http://www.hayesdiscbrake.com/product_af_bleedkit.shtml
  17. Morning all, I need to bleed my Hayes Sole disk brakes. Do I need to get hold of the manufacturer's bleed kit or is there a DIY bleed kit that I can build that will do the same job at a fraction of the price? Lastly, how do I go about this? I'm pretty handy, just need a direction to be pointed in.
  18. Hi Guys, I'm looking to replace my full finger mtb gloves and was wondering what the experts on the Hub have to say. My previous pair were Ryders and I trashed them within six months. Looking for something suitable for XC and some trails. What say you?
  19. *Mini hijack on* On the subject of commuting to work, which bike is better? Road or MTB? *Mini hijack off*
  20. Most mtb races are unseeded. Mass start or start per distance. Most of the flatter races have passed i.e. The Fast One, Emperor's, John Deere. There is a new one on the calendar on 11 May, long distance is 26km out in Magalieburg
  21. They don't scratch. Used one with my Fiesta for two years, not a mark. You should be able to get the bike in the back with only taking off the front wheel. Just take the rear headrests off and the back seats drop right down. I do with my Ibiza Cupra and its essentially the same car. (Cupra is better looking though)
  22. Lurker, how long since your conversion and how much riding?
  23. Hey BigBen, Can we have an update on how the "ghetto" tubeless conversion is holding up?
  24. HUH The original question was "do you ride there?" I do. And since Wendell (and others) have made some significant improvements to the routes in recent times, I will be riding there a lot more. I also ride the section on the other side of Swartkoppies Road, i.e. behind the shooting range and all the way to Walkerville. Unfortunately, the guys on quads and MX bikes have torn up a lot of the track which washes away and becomes almost unridable in the wet.
