  1. Very nice. It is so lovely to be out and about that early in the day. I remember as couple of years back we had 1 month holiday in Cape Town in December. We stayed out in Macasar (at Boys Town) and cycled every day towards Gordonsbay or Stellenboch early in the mornings. Lovely views.
  2. Who needs 20 gears, a light bike, the latest cycling gear.... This morning on my way to work I saw a farm worker on an old "dikwiel" riding up this pass. He must have had a cadence of 30, because the dikwiel had a big gear ratio. Mostly the farm workers push there bicycles up this hill.
  3. I hate you..... well, post an update after you have tested them.
  4. Nice one buddy. Love what you are doing, giving older bikes a new life.
  5. I envy all you that has entered, it is going to be fun. Unfortunatly me not going this year, next year again.
  6. Wow, that beats my experience by a long shot. The mud was so deep that I stopped in it without unclipping my pedals. Fortunatly, on my way home most of the mud fell off:
  7. Nice one. My 8 year old and I will be doing his first "race" at then end of the month - he cannot wait.
  8. Quite interesting: http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/yetis-dramatic-new-seven-up-close-12577 http://mos.bikeradar.com/images/news/2007/Interbike/Yeti%20Seven/IMG_5665-280-80.jpg With a whopping seven inches of travel, Yeti's new Seven mountain bike sounds like a downhill sled - but it isn't. Instead, this is a bike that Yeti intends to be ridden up the mountain as well as down it. To achieve that Yeti has made a significant design move and shed the right hand chainstay. The designer responsible for the Seven is Yeti vice president Steve Hoogendoorn, and he took BikeRadar through the major points of the Seven. Hoogendoorn says he is slightly mystified by the reaction to the new machine which has been turning heads for the last two days at the off-road demo day at the Interbike show. But, he laughed, "I've been looking at it on my computer screen for the last two years!"
  9. Riding downhill all the time (front weel smaller than back wheel).
  10. It is nice that you do it in style - color coded bikes / kit. That is the way to go if you can afford it.
  11. The same colour scheme as my Stumpy:
  12. Very very nicely done. Looks cool. _BBi2007-09-20 00:46:28
  13. Maybe the smile?
  14. I know it would be tough, just playing with numbers. Jip, did it last year.
  15. 2km of climbing in 85km = 1.3 degrees average uphill - nothing.
  16. Well said TitusTi and BB. The point is that you cannot continue with anything long term if it is not fun / enjoyable.

    29" MTB

What is the facination with 29"er's? Is it just novelty value or some other technical issue? Must say, it looks kinda out of proportion, but that is only because we are used to 26" tires.
  18. Realy nice goodies.

    Sani2c 2008

Would love to. My riding partner is getting a baby at that time, so not this year. Just by the way, what is the total cost involved to enter / sleep at night.

  21. A big thanks to Anton from Summit Cycles in Midrand. After I decided to get a Sumpjumper, he sourced the bike within a day or 2. A certain other bigger bike shop have not phoned me back in the last 2 weeks - maybe they are still looking for a '07 Stumpjumber, who knows. My sexy baby:
  22. Maybe an Epic?
