    eina!

The last one is going to hurt a lot.
  3. For general riding and occational racing I will go with (also not that expensive): Materials - Alu for sure Weight - <14 kg Geometry - fairly relaxed with low flat handlebars Bottle Mounts - one + camelbak Cable Routings - anything exept routing under bottom bracket (to exposed to rocks) Travel > 100mm Price < 20K The point I am trying to make it that you need to first define the role of your XC bike, for top end racing go with the previous surgestions.
  4. You had to choose between x and y, and then choose z.
  5. Well done, just keep it up.
  6. Rest, rest and more rest. You will not get unfit in a weeks time.
  7. Same here. My trek 4300 has a RST "something" and never given me any problems. Does what it needs to do, for a budget bike.
  8. Well, sounds it could be true. Potch is a mecca for track & fields athletes from overseas.
  9. I like your commitment and positive outlook. O also would like to cycle to work, but stay 100km from work (on the other side of Hekpoort Pass, so with my MTB it would take 5 hours one way.

  11. Jump building 101: 1. Find a suiteble peice of ground: 2. Build the base: Will post the completed jump tommorrow, as I seem to have misplaced that picture.
  12. Just some feedback on the trail. Between work and play I have manged to progress a bit with the project. I hope to finish it up by winter this year. I decided to do the layout first and is busy adding features / jumps. Creating a jump is hard work, but the satisfaction afterwards makes up for it. The only major problem for me was that with the good rains that we had here in Gauteng, the path gets overgrown very quickly, but hopefully after I have completed it, the amount of riding will keep it cleared.
  13. I would love to get some feedback / ride report on the Stumpy. The reason is that it took a bit of flack lately in the press (mostly from UK based MTB mags): - On launch there was a problem with the inhouse FutureShox - In a comparison test, it came out with something like "nice bike and does averything right, but do not inspire riding..." - In the latest 'What MB", there was a problem with the rocker on the backshock working loose. By the way, I am also in love with my 2007 Stumpy.
  14. Very, very nice. Look aggresive.
  15. Orange bikes seem to be well established in the UK as they are widely advertised in UK publications, like Mountain Bike UK. One of there DS models have the same suspension setup as Commecial (that funny rocker system).

  18. My brother said 2 weekend ago the MTB ride at the Voortrekker Monument was sh!t, and he has the photo to prove it:
  19. Nice pics. Shows the commitment of DH racers.
  20. I will see you @ Breedtnek on Sunday. Doing it, but from Magaliesburg side.
  21. WOW, lovely. Just wants to make you ride all day.
  22. It would be cool it they stick a "lefty" front shock on it.
  23. My old TREK 4300 has Alivio on, and have never given any hassel in 6 years of fairly hard riding. Have done Sabie Experience with them, no problem.
