  1. But it's a good deal, right? I'd rather order through CWC for R4 more because I know shipping is free and reliable from previous orders. If I order today, it's at my door Monday or latest Tuesday.
  2. Am I mistakenly thinking that the Wahoo Kickr 4 plus HR monitor for R16999 is a great deal? I've been looking for a while and can't find a Kickr 4 anywhere for less than R19999. Gat jeuk!
  3. Don't forget Gravel Travel MTB 50km on 11 May in Wellington! Last year this was one of the most enjoyable races for me.
  4. These gone? Get an error message when clicking on link
  5. Hi Guys.. Doing the Solo 8 Hour MTB Challenge on the Sunday. Was wondering if it is possible to pick up my race package on the Saturday morning already? We're attending a wedding the Saturday that's around two hours drive from Wellington and only returning on the Sunday morning, so chances are good that I'm going to pitch a hour or two late for the registration and start of the race. Will I be allowed to just fall in at around 10:00 if I miss the start? I'm obviously going to try and make it in time to the startline, maar die wyn mag dalk vloei..

  7. As far as I know you only get the Big Nine, not Big 90. The XT comes with the carbon CF3 frame and Reba fork. The XT-Edition comes with the TFS alloy frame and Manitou Machete Comp fork. The Big Nine XT is around 2kg lighter than the Big Nine XT-Edition. https://www.merida-bikes.com/en/bike/38-38/bignine-xt https://www.merida-bikes.com/en/bike/45-45/bignine-xt-edition If the price is more or less the same and both bikes are in good nick, take the XT by far!
  8. You maybe have photos of the bikes you can post here? The description confuses me a bit.. are you talking about the Merida Big Nine XT (hardtail) or the Merida Ninety-Six XT (Full-Susp)? There are in both many models other than the XT model. To which model are you comparing the XT? I've never heard of a Merida Big 90 before.
  9. Wonder if we'll see complete new designs from most of the brands again.. 2020 is an olympics year after all.
  10. I really hope not, can't think that so many Sram products would be failing under one roof! Probably just "hy sê sy sê" stories met 'n stertjie by. That would be terrifying if only one shop has seen those numbers fail. On the other hand, if it is just the one shop, maybe they should think of getting a new mechanic because their current one is obviously not doing something right.
  11. I've personally seen with my own eyes this happen to two 1x12 GX cages and one 1x12 XO1 in the space of two weeks. And a friend of mine saw it happen to one of his riding buddies GX last weekend, and apparently the bikeshop he took it to told him they are aware of around 50 similar cases. At least his insurance paid him out no questions asked.
  12. Yes, just the frame and rear triangle. I actually have no idea about the scars. Would also like to find that out. I haven't had a fall with the bike, but I have a stack of left over tiles in my garage and accidentally nicked my frame on the edge of a tile leaving a nasty mark on the paint job of the frame. If that voids the warranty somehow I might just drop my bike at Bogus over the winter.
  13. I hope the guy that bought my previous bike isn't on the hub. Taking into account the cost of the paint job, I sold it for a R3000 profit after having it at Bogus.
  14. I can't wait for the warranty to expire on my 2017 Scott Spark RC 900 Pro. Still 4 years to go, but I'm already planning my next Bogus Project! Has to be something glittery/sparkly/glow-in-the-darky type vibe for my next one... He did a fantastic job on my previous bike. I love my bike and feel no need to upgrade within the next ten years..I like the look and overall paintjob of my bike, but man I hate that little red pieces on the bike, even if it was just plain white it would make a huge difference for me.

  16. I'm amazed that loadshedding hasn't crept into the comments yet.. at the way it's going, in a few years I'll have a new excuse for missing a ride.. AXS couldn't charge
  17. Hehe I only KNOW people that goes overseas.. I'm stuck in Paarl on my old 1x11 XT groupset with no plans to upgrade soon or go on a overseas holiday
  18. Most couples I know go on a week overseas holiday every year or every other year easily worth far more than this, nobody frowns upon that. In all honesty, this R32k groupset will give me more and longer pleasure than lying on a filthy Thailand beach for a week.
  19. Agree, I was only able to start running without getting too much pain in my knees and joints after dropping from 125kg to 95kg. Started two months ago, not huge distances yet, between 6 and 8km once or twice a week when I take a rest day off the bike. Dropping all that weight also helps A LOT with climbing hills on the bike!!
  20. I started at Val du Charron and just followed the white boards with the red arrows. Easy to find, yes. All the split points are also clearly marked.
  21. Had my first ride on the Wild Boar trails Saturday. Already love it! Now I can't wait for my new house to get built just outside Wellington..these trails will basically become my backyard playground! Just a quick question.. i got there at around 08:00, there was no one at the trail centre, so I signed in on the register kept in the container with my Hero Membership. Is this the correct procedure? From what time are we allowed to ride? I'd like to hit the trails around 06:00 if possible.
  22. Jip, just add to the bottom of the list. Welcome!!
  23. I was out on a training ride with the Mtb.. on my way back to Paarl, just outside Wellington, I passed a guy doing this race.. it was around 12:00, so I assume he was having a tough old day on the bike.. told him to sit in my slip and gave him a wheel to suck up to the 4 way stop towards Windmeul. I turned left towards Paarl, and he asked me with tears in his eyes if he still needs to go straight up that hill. Shame I felt his pain, we all had those days before. The marshals were at the 4 way stop 06:30 when I went pass there earlier, but they were already gone by 12:00 when he got there.. shouldn't they wait until the last rider and sweeper vehicle come by?
  24. Of the 70 that started the year, it looks like only 21 remain. Between the lot of us remaining, we've managed to lose a combined 84kg since the start of January.. Edit: Sorry Veebee, forgot you said you'll weigh-in later. I jumped the gun a bit, maybe a few other guys also still weighing in tonight..
