  1. Oh, you wanted fear? Cobra ...
  2. Snakes are wonderful. What do you think our trails will look like without something keeping rodents in check?
  3. I don't with either, but have heard about someone with Pylontech batteries linked to some or other inverter and when he bought additional batteries the two sets of Pylontech were not compatible (something about a circuitboard change Pylontech had made, rendering the older batteries incompatible). Hubble should be good, Revov is good, Freedomwon is good (and expensive) and Sunsynk has a very good reputation.
  4. I've been told a puff adder will strike a balloon twice before you see it pop. And that by an experienced snake handler that will handle anything by hand, except a puffy, then the tongs are used. If they feel vulnerable they are bitey, but will almost always give you a warning (warning #1: neck in S-bend, i.e. ready to strike; warning #2: hissing). You can general tell which sex a puff adder is by looking at the tail: the males have long slender tapering tails, the females' tales taper off quite abruptly. They are quite magnificent snakes: just one huge muscle with fangs.
  5. That's true, but it does help when you hold them close to the ground when you move them. Another good reason to move the remains of something that was hit by (probably) a car is that a range of other critters – birds, insects, scavengers – will descent on the remains and are at risk of being flattened by a passing car.
  6. Yep, he definitely won't win. 😂
  7. I find the Spez stuff pretty good. Expensive, but good. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/s-works-carbon-zee-cage-ii--right/p/173135?color=274179-173135&searchText=43020-0502
  8. ... and 6 km now. I have no idea how they do this. Go KB (come on, we'll never hear the end of it if a bloody Ozzy wins)!
  9. 😅 Who knows with those two. If it was me it would be an early next Thursday finish.
  10. Benky with scant 20-odd kilometre lead. 330 or so to go.
  11. Q: what does Full Meal on the tracker (full distance ... i.e. all the way to Windhoek?)
  12. Amazing to watch this. Also surprised by how quiet it's been here concerning the race. Anyone know why Lael pulled out?
  13. What on earth is a hyperbike (I always thought it was something from the Hypermarket 😅)?
  14. O-ring on my wife 12-speed also worked just fine. Spring (outside the clutch assembly for those who have not delved there) is slightly rusted, but clutch assembly still looks brand new (she rides daily near the sea).
  15. Yeah. And we don't like AG either. 😂
  16. The B sample hasn't been tested (apparently). Why not if he claims angel-like innocence? https://www.pinkbike.com/news/mathias-flueckiger-claims-innocence-in-doping-case-sample-should-have-been-reported-atypical-not-positive.html
  17. Silly season thoughts: who will PFP be riding for next year (don't think it's going to be BMC)? 🤔
  18. What is the sample testing procedure? How long does it take ... surely not weeks? I know the French have a 5-hour work week, with breaks for croissants and wine, but surely this sort of thing can be done conclusively in a day or two? ... smoke, fire ... just so happens that teammate Keller has also had a remarkable season stabbing at her pedals. 😝 (just joking, I'm sure she just worked her backside off to get there)
  19. Any free feed will be ad-packed and heavily edited. The full live feed will be ad-packed and expensive ... and quite possibly not be available (without VPN) is SA. The riders are so fed-up with the lack of info that they are creating a union to protect their interests. The EWS feed is disappointing, at best. Chris Whatever-his-Surname-is from EWS has been evasive (to put it mildly) regarding info about next year. The hour-long broadcast Discovery has created concerning the next years has been really, really bad IMHO ... US sport television at its worst. My fingers are crossed for a) accessibility, b) affordability and c) reasonable quality.
  20. Broken neck for Minnaar.
  21. Talk of an ambulance at the Santa Cruz pits shortly after Mr Min arrived. Hope he's okay.
  22. How much money (to @Swannie87) are we talking about (if he owns everyone R7500 collectively it can't be all that much!)? What happened to the money that Swannie paid to yeti? Did yeti sell another phantom bike to his daughter? Swannie, you are for more patient than I am buddy. Good luck.
  23. Legend.
  24. Red Bull TV, Sweden. 🤙
