I see it differently. The chain is assumed to be new and unused. If you are happy to unknowingly pay for open-box goods then I am truly happy for you. I prefer to be given the choice.

I don't mind the not-Shimano box, that's absolutely fine with me. I do mind that the package had been cut opened and resealed. That's underhanded behaviour.

12-speed Shimano chain arrives inside a resealed (with CycleLab sticker) plastic packet. Once opened, the cut is clearly visible. 🤔 I'm sure it's fine: the chain is coated in the usual sticky stuff. But I'd prefer to get my online orders packaged in unsealed original packaging. Come on CycleLab, you can do better than this.

Should be: just remember that SRAM uses DOT oil, Shimano uses mineral oil. So stick with Shimano stuff.

This should work. Also highly likely to be used SLX (etc) sets in the Classifieds. Should be an easy and not-too-expensive repair.
