  1. Elliott truck with Argus bike burnt out
  2. santa c, there is NO cheap way that will work - you literally get what you pay for, except in the higher-price range. in that you get the best if you go with brighter-lights. at teh omni 24 hour i had my sigma karma on my helmet and brighter-lights on my bars and despite being one of the slowest riders i had company most of the time on my night laps - because other riders wanted to share my bit of mobile daylight. seriously, birghter lights are worth every cent that you pay for them. if you can afford them you will never ever ever regret buying them.

    Think

paulvs, i dont know what your problem is... you see 1 person with a publically available TB sticker or such like on it doing something wrong and now you say that all TB supporters or anyone and everything to do with TB is an issue. guess what, i see MANY cyclists fluanting the law etc so maybe i should just say ALL cyclists are numbnuts. you are as narrow minded as the idiot that S2L is having an argument with on the motoring forum - no wonder that dude thinks the way he does about cyclists - because of people like you, who are identical to him.
  4. good on the cop!!!!
  5. glad that you made it ok. if you don't get the b$%^& then hopefully karma will
  6. NCR - but thanks to ALL the pta drivers who waited patiently without the usual hooting and temper tantrums today for Bernadine Kruger's (the girl killed by the taxi on her way to school) funeral
  7. fark!!!! very glad that everyone came through this ok.
  8. it is illegal for anyone to operate any vehicle (that includes bicycle) after dark without lights. it is also illegal to attack a person. if you feel that a person (civilian) has no right to point out the first to someone trangressing the law then i guess you feel that no-one should try to protect someone being attacked. that makes you a pretty sick individual and party to the crime - evil thrives where good men do nothing. yes, she was wrong for swearing. no one is denying that. however the reaction was way over the top and the title of this thread is quite correct by referring to it as "deplorable"
  9. the reaction here is what i'm beginning to expect from thehub. to HIT a person (any person) just for swearing is NOT acceptable. EVER. it's arrogant cyclists like those 2 mtb'ers who give all cyclists a bad reputation. if they get hit by a car while out riding the people who've just condemned the lady for questioning where their lights are are going to be all aggresive and "up-in-arms" about it, but honestly - riding without lights is asking for serious trouble. last time i checked it's a free country - free for the lady to train alone the same way that you lot who initially responded are free to respond. your answers simply speak volumes about your character.slowpoke2009-02-25 07:43:29
  10. Daft, if it is so easy to deviate from the path then surely common sense would say the decender should deviate - speed is your frind especially when "bundu-bashing" and it's much easier to maintain control off the path when going downhill than when going uphill? (and no, i look for the excuse of stopping and getting out the way of faster riders with utmost pleasure - i need the chance to caatch my breath.. getting going on an uphill isn't too tough cos i have decent pedals that are easy to clip into)
  11. not good at all. hope the ladies aren't too badly hurt and that they heal up soon. may the taxi driver get his just rewards. what a coward.
  12. i went from look to speedplay and will never go back - the float is phenomenal and i've yet to "accidentally unclip"
  13. mampara, the rudy transition lenses go almost completely clear for riding in the dark... at this stage i have to swap lenses but it i could afford to get hte transition lenses i'd never need to swap them - that is how good they are
  14. Foxx, i've only ever tried these lense out during the crit and i must say if i had the money i'd get them. my eyes are incredibly sensitive - blue eyes AND i've had cornea transplants in both - and i personally loved them
  15. this is the right forum and your point is totally correct. it is this attitude of "biggest" and "fastest" has god-given rights that causes the carnage on the roads as well. welcome to thehubsa.
  16. just ironed out
  17. ok, i've asked ewep to keep you lot informed - he's organising a petition etc so he's going to be more "on top of things" than me.
  18. pauvs - horror of horrors i am forced to agree 100% with BtB/TNT's comment AND tone of it. without TB bikers cycling would be a LOT worse for wear - TB bikers are teh ones who give up their time and spend their money on wear and tear on their bikes to make cycling races safer. TB are looking into trying to organise some stuff. i have just been offline for an hour or so so i'm busy catching up and i will post links, etc as soon as i've caught up on what's going for what. oh, paulvs - you're welcome not to participate and support people who are trying to make things better for everyone.
  19. you could also be holding much too tight - focus your attention on your next few rides on what you're doing with your hand - keep it relaxed and move it on the bars every 10-15 minutes. if the problems persist despite this then start looking at the setup and maybe the fizik gel bar tape etc
  20. nicely put Gman now where are the photographs????
  21. nice GMan, have you got any photographs of her riding it yet? She must have a smile from ear to ear.
  22. so, what did your wife win???? yep, if i lived on the east rand tour de frans would be my shop of choice - Frans is a really good guy.
  23. they don't DQ for crossing the white line on blind rises and blind corners, which is a safety issue, so why would they DQ for littering which is mere "hygiene"?
