  1. That is a single speed. He did the whole Kremetart on mtb with a cow bell, final stage was on the ss. I don't think he knows how to pedal without the sound of a cow bell.
  2. Teeheehee, Cow Bell (aka Lisa) and I moo'ed at the one calf and it moo'ed back. Nothing beats the sound of bells and moo's ;-)
  3. And I was about to post to try get some in on my account.... I'm a long way from the required amount, let alone my goal. This has been a tough year and my time for fundraising is limited. Come on folk, support CHOC by donating via Ben's link above!
  4. Back to the topic... Yes, name and shame. If the named person is innocent then they should come and give their side. The reason people do as they wish in SA is because a people let them get away with it. "Oh, don't say anything they might get upset" or "are you sure, where is the evidence" etc etc. There are no repercussions for poor behaviour. Evil thrives where good men do nothing.
  5. Not cycling related, but I was the only one in my street with lights and hot coffee and able to iron clothes this morning... When I bought the generator 2 weeks and 1 day ago I thought I might've been over-reacting. Have used it twice already!
  6. Awww no :-( this sucks
  7. Frank, enter the Argus and then go to www.thecows.co.za and you will see there is a link to join the Herd on there somewhere :-)
  8. So how is the fund raising going???
  9. I hope this piece of trash is located and dealt with appropriately soon.
  10. I was in the (un)fortunate position of hearing the race briefing (and jokes and stories) given to every single bunch... It was categorically stated to each and every bunch to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and to stop at the water tables and drink but not waste the water. It was also categorically stated to ride in your limits and to be very careful on the downhill. The dangers of the downhill section and the sharp turn at the bottom were stressed as much as the hydrate aspect. Definitely nothing more could have been done by the organisers. Some people would clearly just rather feel than listen. (Or should they hand out ear buds and tell everyone to clear out their ears before the next briefing? Maybe start wiping people's bums for them too?)
  11. Don't forget, for a mere R150 (that goes to CHOC, Childhood Cancer Foundation) you can relax after your event while a Cow accompanies your kid on their fun ride! You can pre-book a Cow (go to https://www.facebook.com/renta.cow.7) or rent one on the day at the Cow gazebo. NB limited Cow stock available, especially the heifers so best to pre-book ;-)
  12. Tumbles, Nic White posted a bit of info re the injuries sustained, but not the crash, on FB
  13. Cow kit on white and black Giant. I think I saw you, can't recall at what point. Race has already dissolved into a painful blur in my mind ;-)
  14. At 60km I though I was going to finish in under 4hours. Then the wind hit me. Then it beat me up and eventually almost killed me. I finished in just over 5 hours :- O
  15. Condolences to family and friends
  16. Yikes! Glad you are ok. Give bank details for small donation to repairs. (Edit... My spare bars are roadie... Sorry)
  17. Hopefully your runs will also be a more realistic distance ;-) my new edge 500 is charging. I think us hubbers need to carry id tags at all times!
  18. Kit or suit? I'm thinking of wearing suit.... Let's form a mini-herd :-D
  19. Where are you at now?
  20. With all these strong riders at the back with me I expect someone to help push me up a climb or two... Look for the short "ou vrou" on a bike that is clearly muuuuuuuch too good fer her ;-)
  21. However they reseed I will happily stay in the back HL bunch... I'm merely planning on beating cutoff ;-)
  22. Hope she heals up soon
  23. Bump :-)
  24. Brilliant brilliant brilliant :-) typical cow helping others out! C'mon folk, all you have to do is make a donation via bobbie's givengain account for the full donation to go directly to CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation)
  25. For those with kids who are faced with parents wanting to do the longer ride and kids wanting to do the shorter distance the Rent a Cows will be there. Rent a Cow to ride with your kid while you do your race - all proceeds go to CHOC.
