  1. And there it is! The fallacy that only fitness "inferior" people ride e-bikes. I ride my e-bike for fun and cause I can do loads more runs and distance than on a non-assisted bike. I also ride my enduro, gravel and trail bikes for fun. Fitness has nothing to do with e-biking in my case. Try one, you might just like it
  2. Any experience with hitting the limiter on an ebike? It's not a great experience and could lead to an injury or worse if it happens at the wrong time. Also, an electric motorbike is not an ebike. I don't see the IOM racers pedaling their Mugens and Taddy sure isn't pedaling his Stark
  3. Getting the stanchion "patched" will be the cheapest way to go. Sendhit makes a kit for this task, but I don't think they have a Kashima colour option. Other option would be to get a new stanchion leg pressed in, though Fox don't sell them for any fork but the 40 so you'd end up with one black stanchion and one gold one. IIRC Robbies Bicycle Concept can do that job. The other option is a new CSU, as mentioned by @Dappere it is around $360 in the states and probably a fair bit more once it gets to SA. Getting the leg recoated will be basically impossible as there is only one place in the world that does it and it's all the way in Japan. Which brings me to the next wrinkle. Once the Kashima is damaged, it tends to flake off, so the damage will only get worse going forward.
  4. Exactly. Some people just want to go fast under their own steam, some want to die in the tech and some want the wind in their hair with little effort
  5. Headed to White River to do the MTO trails and HF segment series. Saturday’s ride was hot as hell!
  6. So do you do hard enduro on the dirt bike or not? Cause honestly, if it’s not so tech that you spend more time pushing and carrying your dirt bike then what is the point?
  7. In my experience, if the ding has made it to the rim bed you are poked. Gooi weg and buy a new one
  8. The Rise has the RS version of the motor with only 60nm of support, You'd want to compare it to other full power alloy bikes like the Giant Reign or Trance X
  9. Road e-bikes are assisted to 45km/h. Back to the MTB, there is an argument for guys hitting big jumps that the 32km/h limit is too low, especially if you hit the governor as you are on a jump face. Different kettle of fish, but worth noting. As for the cheats: I've had people I call friends blatantly cut routes at Moto Enduro races and stand on the podium with zero shame. If someone wants to cheat, they will do it. The local scene is too small and does not have enough resources to check all the bikes before events. Even if they did, a skelm KFC would usually be enough for someone to look the other way
  10. Sounds like there are a lot of people out there who need to do some basic suspension setup and bracketing
  11. If someone is quoting that price, they are trying to rob you. Have a look at my classifieds ad
  12. Maybeeeee...
  13. Needs a Grip 2 damper 🙊
  14. Seems like you need to join the club to ride there. Post below:
  15. How was the first ride? And please, please, please take that saddle bag off. It will ruin the dropper stanchion and limit how far you can drop the saddle. A hip pack will do a much better job
  16. Have a trawl through the classifieds and post back here. We're all pretty happy to have a look and help with some feedback. Trek Fuel EX, Specialized Stumpjumper, Giant Trance and many more would fit the bill for you
  17. Again, what type of riding are you looking to do? The Stance is a lighter weight more XC/Lite Trail type bike. The Fuel EX is more Trail/Lite Enduro bike.
  18. Sample of one. I've had several excellent Treks and great service from two of their dealers as well as a warranty claim that was smooth as silk. The Fuel EX is a smoking deal at the price. But as suggested earlier, buy the right bike for the type of riding you want to do. The Titans will be great for XC duty and can handle some trails, the Trek will be much happier hitting trails up to a few enduro lite lines but will be a bit lazier on the XC type stuff.
  19. There should be no scratches on the stanchions. None. Zero. If there are there is a problem. If yours have scratches, it is also poked
  20. Do Titan Bikes have the monopoly on correctly assembled Rockshox forks?
  21. Case in point today. Friend rented a bike from a big brand bike shop to ride today as their shock is being serviced. The rented bike was shanked. Creaks, rattles, loose headset, suspension felt like it had never been serviced and handed over dirtyAF. The manager or person responsible for that demo fleet should be fired cause anyone who demos that bike will not end up buying one after such a shoddy experience. The rental per day is also not cheap. If it was me I wouldn’t have ridden that bike and asked for my money back
  22. Reach out to Ciovita and see if they can help. I had something similar happen with a First Ascent product and they were able to repair it for me
  23. Sessioned some stuff at Grootfontein.
  24. All of a sudden there are several second hand Garmin watches for sale. Hopefully nothing nefarious
  25. I’d rather go for a 36 than the new Lyrik
