  1. OMW. Deon has landed himself a jewel. I hope Lourens is happy there.
  2. Camp is still very gay, sister So listen out to hear which bike is described as 'beulah' - that would be the campest bike.
  3. And an interesting, if not conclusive take on Vit C: Flu Fighters Part II: Seeing Vitamin C http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=6563
  4. But with an increase in training volume and intensity beyond this moderate level, the immune system seems to get depressed and the resistance to infections can greatly decrease, to levels at or below that of a sedentary individual. Indeed, 24% of ultramarathoners completing a 160 km running event experienced a significant episode of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI) in the following week (1). 5. Fever sounds more Mxit than man to me. So let him be. But honestly Fever: I doubt if you will find any support from hubbers to join in your brick throwing tantrum.
  6. Onetime - if SA had more MEN like you, not afraid to apologise, we would be one helluva a country. I salute you. It takes a (real) man, to admit a wrong.
  7. Well well done straatvark!
  8. Couple of questions: Does this mean that if anyone from upcountry wants to do say ONE of these races, they have to pay R850? So an elite team pays R1500 + R850x5 (5 riders) = R10750 for the same races that they previously did for R60-70 x 5 per race = R2100 (6 races) and for the extra money there is some TV time, and a different point system. Am I missing something here? The 'no more standing in the queue' - we do online entries anyway? Never stood in a queue? Except for the licence presentation, which remain unchanged - so to ask R850 for that benefit - ? And suppose its just a slip, but the gear restrictions also apply to the U/18 even if they race with the Elites. I appreciate the effort put into this, but where is the real change in what everybody's been moaning about: road closure, length of the race, etc etc.
  9. I am one of the fools who believe in God. And I love Him and I love loving Him. I understand exactly why some of you are saying things about 'the faith' and about Him. I was there too. But - you'll meet Him one day - and you will become a fool too! And then you will understand His reality outside of what you can now see. I know that I know that I know, HE quite simply is.
  10. Thanks for stopping porky!!!
  11. Muxman, I don't quite understand why you are complaining. We all know there is no way (yet) to cure the common cold, or flu. Your doctor did great, I think. First Law: The Art of Medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature takes its course.
  12. Is it not a contradiction in terms to say that you will reach your ''full potential'' while using ''perfromance enhancing'' ''drugs''? Jenna lee to write your paper you have to stop being a cyclist, not think as one, be something else when you write it. Otherwise you will be writing a eulogy for your sport
  13. Jenna Lee, brace yourself, my girl. (and welcome to The Hub!)
  14. Rule 1: Remember the human and other core rules of netetiquette http://www.albion.com/netiquette/corerules.html
  15. Gee Wayne. Write like that and you bring tears to my eyes! Well done Mannie! Well done Dan!
  16. Superb stuff Wayne! I remember last year you posted a lot more on your website. Will you be doing this again this year?
  17. This thread reads like a show!!
  18. May you have a day, different, even in the smallest way, even for a couple of minutes, tomorrow. May you stop for a moment to not compile a xmas wish list, but to consider the option of being the gift, being the contribution. Along this line i want to thank slowgo for being exactly that this year, by giving - a bike - to someone he had never met. Thank you!

  20. Erhmm... can someone explain step for step how to post a ride profile from my Polar training diary to here? Thanks in advance SwissVan - surely you post it in the same way as you post your photos? Save your profile as a jpeg or gif file, and upload. Or upload a screenshot of the profile? Would LOVE to see it as your photographs are fascinatingeuraquila2007-10-29 13:26:48
  21. [quote=Hendrik Petoors The whole powermeter thing is just another attempt to make bicycling an elitist sport. As John Heywood said back in 1546 ... "There are none so blind as those who will not see?"
