  1. I disagree, he is probably just picky greedy. The really weak (relatively speaking) riders in Phonak would have jumped at any offer. BTW Basso also doesn't have a contract yet! Rock if he signs up for a local team you'll have been proven right.
  2. Thats the nature of the Hub.. if only the top pros could comment then this board would be reduced to maybe 5 people making comments (good bye Linnega) anyway, I reckon the DSs and bosses see a lot more of a race from their cars and appreciate who is doing what, whereas on TV we see a multicoloured bundle, breakaway chancers and stage winners. So he has proven to be a hard worker who can also sprint.. and his TTing just gets better. And he isn't too old, should have at least 3 or 4 good years of racing left.

  4. wow I opened this thread quicker than the sex and cyling one
  5. tuesday morning.. iol weather report for Jhb - 100% rain. didn't bother me. went to kyalami - no rain of course.
  6. Why would anybody link to this site when there is so much moangattery.. and suurtietery... and Oom H?
  7. pls post the picture, Fanie
  8. I think you are right R2S2, as when I try those machines at the gym (always before exercise) I get fat % of 10 to 14 within a few days of each other - while my body weight is fairly constant... so somewhere i am losing/ gaining 3kg of fat? I think level of hydration effects the measurements I dont use them anymore
  9. I read in an advert in Bicycling about a USN product called GAK tek or GAK something. The first ingredient that it mentioned was Growth Hormone. Surely this is illegal? or is this something different to the GH that pros get 2 year bans for??
  10. Those machines at VA gym are terrible, for the reason that you have just mentioned as well as the fact that people with genetically 'stocky' physiques will be called 'fat'
  11. I'm going to try that!... then I'll check with the pump.
  12. tell us more...
  13. Big H - then you should buy a bike from Cajees or the internet. Somebody completely new to cycling should either go in with a knowledgable friend (Hubber ) or go to Cyclelab, MSC, Linden or one of the specialist shops.
  14. Spare bike for the TCS team??
  15. I thought you were going to post the much sought after, new raleigh - well same wheels anyway. What will one of these Cannondales set you back?Gumpole2006-10-17 01:57:24
  16. True, but If Linden cycles will sell you a brand new X bike with Y components for R11000 (list price 12k) and Cajees you can get the same bike, same components (list price 12.5k) for say R10000... who will you buy it from? If Cajees had their own branded bicycles I wouldn't touch them!
  17. Every bicycle that I have bought for myself (or family) has come from Cajees, Westdene or Solomons. i'm afraid these guys buy in bulk, run their businesses effeciently and if you are prepared to haggle AND you know what you want BEFORE you come into the store you will get an excellent price. Similarly if I was going to drop 10-20k on a flat screen TV I would go to one of the big electronics stores (Stax, Hifi corp.) who will give me the best price - even if their service/ sales staff are useless. but these shops should carry a warning (especially Cajees Fourways): - Dont service your bicycle here. - Dont ask for advice - If you start buying accessories you are going to get ripped off! Lastly Solomons and Westdene always seem to be able to beat Cajees prices!
  18. I've never had any chafing problems with either. Of course I haven't done a 6,7 or 8 hour ride in my life!
  19. is there a limit to the picture size? what format - jpg tiff,.. pdf?
  20. I got my first set of Bibs with Club kit, cant say there is much of a difference but the Bibs are definitely a lot warmer and using the toilet is a hassle. SP, you will be getting some wrath and retribution from the non DM fans soon
  21. Make sure they are folded tyres (no steel beading). I cant recommend the GP4000 as I have used 2 sets of them on 2 different bikes in the last 14 months...... and not had a puncture yet!
  22. Has anybody actually even seen a SRAM force groupset?? if value is a real conceren then Record and maybe Duraace shouldn't be here?!? ok I ride with ultegra so i'll give them a vote
  23. The main part of Hekpoort (after Bateleur's Polar graph) is 6.8%; 2.65km; 180m ascent. Including the long gentle climb before and the bump after the top it is +- 8km with +- 290m ascent
  24. Thanx for the profile, Bateleur, it looks a lot tamer than the profile from supercycling.. only 900m ascent, thats not TOO bad.
  25. I think he will, Its too flat and easy (for MTBers). The MTBing community should 'doctor' the course the day before the race to keep the windgat roadies in check!.
