  6. Sounds like a conspiracy to sell DIE BEELD
  7. I've got a 50/34 - 11/23 and the 34/23 was used quite a bit at the top of boulders smileys/smiley9.gif, however I think that for 95% of races, with racing up and down rolling hills a 50/36 would be better as there is a huge gap between the big and small chainring. If you are a LA wannabee and go up hills spinning like a MTBer in the granny gear then get the 34!
  8. I had endless problems with the red button jamming. First they replaced it, then the guy at IF in Midrand took it off and sanded it lightly with some sand paper... since then no problems.
  9. yes it will down grade the resale value... if you are even considering resale value dont buy a new bike. I think that the one frame has a slightly lower grade of carbon fibre (lower meaning 100g heavier, and probably more comfortable), but I maybe getting confused with the Scott CR1. At least ask for a discount of the price difference between the frames from the shop, and if the only diference is a little weight then dont worry, you will never feel it.
  10. My plan (first time rider) is. 1. Take the first bit easy and that first hill easy (hilltops I think it is called). Ride at my own pace and descend at my own pace. 2. Push a little bit harder up the big climb (boulders?) descend at my own pace. 3. Hopefully find a small group after the descend to do the last 60km of rolling hills with. (read wheelsuck smileys/smiley9.gif) I will just take armwarmers, earwarmers, (maybe legwarmers depending on the starting temp, I think it is meant to be 6 degrees) and 5 energy gell sachets, 2 x 500ml of water, which I wont hesitate to stop and fill up. I expect to stop at the top of boulders to refill water bottles and remove ear/arm/leg warmers. and after that at any water stations that I feel like it, hopefully just one, maybe all of them smileys/smiley11.gif.

  21. Westdene used to have the Giant TCR (blue writing) a couple of months ago. It was 16k with 105 and shimano wheels if my memory serves. Give them a call they still might have something.
  22. I've got a set of 3s, from what I gather they are the equivalent of Ksyrium elites. haven't done too many kms on them but no complaints so far. Great in a straight line!
