  1. Nice to see DQS have extended Jamies Knox contract to 2021 and also in UK rider news Movistar have picked up only their 3rd British rider signing Gabe Cullaigh from Team Wiggins giving them an up and coming sprinter to develop.
  2. Not so sure, they will be getting some new guys in, he's taken Saba' and they have the understanding of what's needed for a sprinter from the failed boo-boo experiment. Viv' is also pretty good at surfing wheels when he has to but he may need a bit of a season back on the track to share those skills over the winter. I'm guessing Cofidis also allowed him to focus on the Olympics again.
  3. Right, let's see if he can put up or shut up in the 2020 season then. He'll be the main GC guy there by the looks of it so all the posturing about co leaders, riding for me and the rest should be laid to rest. Will be interesting to see if he drops the 'loose a ton of time and then fight valiantly back' approach that he's been running with recently
  4. What a possible awesome matchup next year for the dirt riders on the road. Sam, MVDP, WVA and others.
  5. They look very hot, hope they perform half as good.
  6. They were run for one year by several riders in on the UCI DH series. Proper powerful and strong enough in the 2 pot version. My 4 pots are overkill. The 2 pot versions were run by: Bruni, Iles, Miller and Payet
  7. Never bled mine in the 18 months I had the 2 pots and not touched the 4 pots for admin at all. Forgot, one of the best things about them is the quick release system which means you can unclip the hoses from the calipers without losing fluid or letting air in. great when taking bikes apart for builds, internal routing or traveling etc.
  8. I was just typing a reply saying I got turned onto Curas because all the guys in bike shops who I respected had them on their personal bikes and rode them (Nixon, Marc D and others). I'd never heard of them previously but got a set of the 2 pots cheaply and they were awesome. I've had Guides, Hope, SLX and 2 pot Curas and now on the Cura 4 pot versions and frankly you just don't need that amount of power. The standard curas are way enough and the modulation worked perfectly for me. What I like is they have a great feel & modulation but if you need to bring on the power then there is a bucket load hiding in there. Personally I find 4's a little too much for most of the riding around here but they would be great in bigger places with longer runs. I also found that the 4 pots come on much stronger on those 'uh-ho, didn't expect that, my brain says grab the lever' moments. Not enough to rudely fire you OTB but 2 pots worked for me perfectly. Edit: I'd like to try the TRP's but at the moment I can't see myself from changing.
  9. 4 wins - 3 in 2015, 1 in 2014. No WT wins. No GT wins. I know GC is a different approach to results and racing but GC riders do win stages. Maybe a change of approach and just let him try to race free of that pressure and get a couple of wins. 4 Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali 2.1 2015-03-29 3 Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali - Stage 4 2.1 2015-03-29 2 African Continental Championships - Road Race CC 2015-02-14 1 National Championships South Africa - Road Race NC 2014-02-09
  10. And Landa? Is he moving on again?
  11. I know this is an old topic and alot of people believe in the 'it's only yours when you've paid for it and it's in your hands' but I recently contacted someone here selling a Knolly Carbon whole bike to see if it was still for sale as I was pretty interested and had cash to go but the seller wrote back to say "Someone has paid a dep but if you are more serious and pay full before the the 7th i will gove his dep back! I bought ot from trail teck" Maybe I'm wrong but if the person has paid a deposit then you've kinda committed to selling that thing, you have his coin. Look, maybe they accepted a lower price and were looking try to get the full advertised price but I don't think it's on to be honest. If I'd laid down a deposit and the deal seemed to be done, then I'd like to know it's done and not hocking it to the next fastest person. Plus it doesn't make me feel exactly trusting that a big ticket purchase from the other side of the country is going to go well. I've held items for a week for a guy on a promise and I've had people do me a favour on here as well. It's some of what makes it a bit of community and above the fight of somewhere like gumtree. Or of course it just about getting as much money as you can so what does it matter.
  12. or if you're not going to do that then Dayle and Lyne have them at a great price.
  13. If it looks like a duck, walks like duck and quacks like a duck... Mr Ryders decision is looking more like the right call with each race.
  14. Apart from the bikes (if Merida stay on) that is going to give Cavendish the best chance for a swan song season. Rod Ellingworth is going in as Team Principle and was mentor for Cav' at Britsh Cycling, he is / has been a massive influence on him and with Nibbles moving on they haven't got a clear direction at the moment. It was a move that was on the cards last season but ended up not happening (maybe due to the weird eastern european influence and the Nibbles centric set up).
  15. Of course it's about the story. It's part of their narrative, existence, it is put in to every quote, is used as the reason riders join etc and seems to gets walked out more and more when there is very little else to tell anyone and seems to be used to deflect the other issues. It's the point of the branding on the jersey, to reach people and raise awareness and spread the message and get people to become part of their solution. The Qhubeka angle of the project is a great thing for a team to do, it's awesome what they are doing and helping change lives. If DD are happy to plow money into a team of professional sportsmen (no ladies team here remember) as well as the large amount of support staff and getting very little coverage or results then more power to them and the team has found an unbelievable partner in the world of professional cycling. One that will bank roll a WT team who doesn't have to rely on it's sporting success is incredible. Personally I would have thought that if it was solely about the impact and the work of the charity then you could use the huge budget of a team in the NGO space in a much more shrewd way to effect change.
  16. Perfect excuse for a new bike. New seat post? What were you thinking!
  17. Not sure how long the current sponsorship deal is for but if it's not 2+ years you'd have to be worried as Team Owner / Principle. There is only so much the Qhubeka story can paper over the results.
  18. Nice! Looks a bit like a skinny Spez Enduro.
  19. Well they still have a ton of coverage even with him not there as I'm not sure there has been a stage covered by each fo the main TV sites and the bigger podcasts that hasn't mentioned him at some point.
  20. Was quite tempted to put bet R100 on Cav taking a stage there as you'd hope he'd be fired up and ready to go. Wasn't that brave though.
  21. Seems they were wanting to step up to WT and with katusha possibly folding there might be a licence there as well.
  22. How come you're selling? You've got an offering haven't you? I thought it would have been perfect.
  23. Love Manitou forks. Hope that the pricing is as keen as the Mattocs have been.
