  1. It will work like any TT bike. Loosen the bolts that hold the bars inplace and drop it in sideways in the box (with cables attached off course). PM sent by the way EDIT: sp
  2. I've seen another one like this (fully built) by pornstar on thehub. Seems like this is the TT frame to get out of the east at the moment. Please update us on availability. this looks like a great frame. Also, does it use (and include) TRP TT brakes as per some of the websites?
  3. D group was awesome yes. I jumped from the gun. Wanted to get to the front by the top of Helz to reduce the risk of coming off at 75km/h. I was also one of the 8 at the end, but sat up and made sure I got out of the way of any sprinting heroics. 2:37 for an improvement of 30mins from last year
  4. I've been out of banking for a while, but I'm sure the NCA (National Credit Act) prohibits penalties on early settlement. You can work out what fees and interest you'll pay by taking the difference between the loan amount with no interest (R30 000 divided by 60 i.e. R500) and the actual installment (in this case at 20% it will be R1 022). So if you have a 5 year loan but settle it in 12 months time, you will pay R1022 x 12, instead of R500 x 12. So R12300 vs R6000. I.e. you will be paying R6300 interest in the first year. You must remember that as with any loan, you settle mostly interest and less capital in the beginning of your loan. The longer the term, the more interest (as less capital is serviced). Shoot me a PMM with your e-mail address and I'll send you a small excel file that you can play with. As I said, I agree that Personal loan should be the last option, but that is your choice. I'm hoping to assist you make an informed choice.
  5. Simple loan calculator attached (Excel not allowed so image attached) I agree with most of the above sentiments, but make an informed decision. See if the installment fits in your budget. Note the Effective Interest rate (Including all fees etc), and the Total Repayment. The lookup table can be used as a quick reference to what you wil be repaying in total given a term and interest rate.
  6. 1. Pete Jacobs 2. Crowie 3. Andreas Realert Macca as a dark horse as I think he is going to bomb a bit on the run given his short distance focus this last year
  7. I'm with SwissVan here. go for a couple of drills that help you get the "feel" back of a long, relaxed stroke. Gooi 'n big pull buoy. Catch-up's etc. Leave the rest to the wetsuit! Don't kick..haha
  8. She was on that bike for at least the last 6 weeks. Trek gave her the same set-up as Raynard had her on. I think she is on a Speed Concept 9.9! She's not a Trek sponsored athlete though so will give the bike back after Kona and come back to the Raynard Tissink bike in SA. Let's hope for an age-group win, she has what it takes!
  9. Anyone going to this? It is an awesome event with Long Distance OW swimming (Mile and 3km), Biathlon, Duathlon and Triathlon being hosted. Great party afterwards as well! http://www.freshpakfitnessfestival.co.za/
  10. Great deal on TT bars @ CRC at the moment: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Offers.aspx?BrandIDs=927
  11. +1 for Look Keo If budget is not an issue, buy the Look Keo with integrated power meter (Polar)
  12. Is that a Q ring he used in front?
  13. So as Dan himself admits, he has some blame to take, but surely TSA can look past all the (mal-) administrative BS and let our top guys race and win medals. It will just lead to more sponsorships, more people racing in triathlon (on- and off road). I've seen some post here moaning about TSA, so what solutions are there? They hold the monopoly of all triathlons in SA, take huge amounts of money from registered athletes and even more from un-registered athletes. They take money from the race organizers, but I'm yet to learn what value they add . http://www.dghugo.com/why-not/2012/05/19/
  14. Heard battery life much better than 910xt. Pornstar reviewed one. Paul Kaye (voice of ironman) swears by it. I'm in the same boat. 910xt or Suunto ambit?
  15. Matket is probably not big enough. You get undercut by online retailers ala capemulti and fluidlines. Cyclelab in WEstlake offers some stuff. But I feel your frustration...
  16. You should pick up those for quite cheap. 910XT is out
  17. If it is the company next to the N2, close to the Virgin Active gym, they are called Fluidlines. Check www.fluidlines.co.za The pool at the gym "eats" through my trishorts in less than a season (7/8 months). SO I won't take my wetsuit close to chlorinated water!

    2012 Ironman

I see Raynard Tissink just entered. Will be great to see him there even though he says he is "not racing". Just wait for that gun to go off!!
  19. Two piece for me too...
  20. Contact Terry from Xterra. He will arrange a fitting or a swim for you (if you are in town). Other options include Sportmans Warehouse (Orca), www.fluidlines.co.za (Orca) and www.capemulti.co.za (various). From his website: Terry Gillespie can be contacted on XXXXXXXXX or terry@xterrawetsuits.co.za for pricing and ordering details.
  21. Thats 25000 Total and 16 000 for the half (9200 runs the Ultra) I'm doing half from B. Sub 90 in that weather with new route will be a challenGE!
  22. Trek: Treger Brands
  23. Richard Murray is posting some good times. He has the run if he can get to T2 with the group, he will be a contender IMO
  24. The lab was started by the owner of Axis house (mining) to be more in line with his sports sponsorships. Raynard a sponsored athlete like Ryan Sandes and Mike Baylee (sp?)
  25. Raynard did AfricanX. Triathlon SA wanted him to join Richard Murray at Olympics, but at his own admission, Raynard have not run 3 minute km's in years. In his words "That idea was dumb" Saw him at AfricanX having a blast. Running with camera and taking photo's of everyone. Think they had a podium on one day. His partner was holding him back slightly....
