  1. Also struggling. Came across your post on Google. Shimano tech: http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/blevel.jsp?ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181679&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302051937&bmUID=1205595020249 You need a Shimano SM-BH59 brake hose or something compatible. Unfortunately, CRC doesn't list anything for BH59. Google: You can get them. Ask your LBS to help you. http://www.artscyclery.com/Shimano_BH59_Hydraulic_Hose_Kit_1700mm/descpage-000045.html
  2. +1 26ers are being sold at discounts at many places as they are perceived to be obsolete LMAO.
  3. Cool story! Were you both riding in a group and he helped?
  4. Spank look good but are 6-bolt, so not for me.

  6. LMAO off at your bestevvar gaming PC analogy and my cheapie Shimano hub thinking. Long-term price and convenience were what drove me to search for bombproof wheels. Read that SunRingle supply Stans rims, only difference being that Stans look for the lightest rims and SunRingle prefer sturdier rims. But of course this ensure that a MXT33/39 rim will hold a tubeless setup equally well as a Mavic UST rim. Didn't think that the full UST-compliance was so important as I'd ghetto with duct tape to close any spoke holes. After all, the DH tyres (eg. Conti Kaiser) I've considered don't even come in UST flavours. And the wider the rim, the less likely a tubeless tyre is to roll of in a turn at a given tyre pressure.
  7. Hoops: The atomlab pimplites look great (and good reviews), but probably going SunRingle. Mavic EX823 are too pricey @ R1.2k each (about same weight as MTX33). MTX33 36H looks good at R600. Hubs: Hopes are great, but saw a Shimano TS30 36H hub for R72(!). http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/shimano-ts30-rear-hub/rp-prod83940 Trying to find more info on this hub as that'd make my build a lot cheaper.
  8. I don't care about weight. Want to build the tuffest wheelset possible. What to get? CRC selection: Rims: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/rims?f=2258 Hubs: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/hubs?f=2258
  9. CO is about 60% MCT. Good for a "quick" ketone boost. Don't think I'd pay a premium for it over normal CO.
  10. CRC have good deals on disc brakes. Anyone need a new left hand front brake PM me to add to my order: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/shimano-lx-disc-brakes-dual-contol-m585/rp-prod7888 Shimano LX Disc Brakes Dual Contol M585 @ R352 http://i1249.photobucket.com/albums/hh508/rudig/ShimanoLXDiscBrakesDualContolM585_zpsa93d2e31.png Going for value brake pads: Clarks Resin @ R80, Sintered @ R104 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/clarks-shimano-deore-m515-m525-tektro-disc-pads/rp-prod35412
  11. Went to Johnson Cycle Works. They couldn't open the freewheel for me, but were kind enough to remove the cluster for me (gave the mechanic R5 for his troubles). The shop rates that the low quality ones are such bad quality anyhow that it's risky to open them. Replacement cluster costs only R110, but I cleaned the old one in diesel and petrol.
  12. krouxsa, thanks for reminding me to try another LCHF pizza! I use a macadamia meal with egg for a base. Needs some work, but it's a start.
  13. LMAO! Thanks for that bread vid, HMT. I hope it's a prank video.
  14. Sometimes dairy cows graze on things that make the milk taste sour even though it's not off. OP, doesn't make financial sense for SIDI to entertain warranties outside the qualifying period. Admitting to a screw-up might impact on how fair people view the extreme premium they charge. DIY those bad boys and get back on the saddle!
  15. Topwine, please share your knowledge. You seem to have a lot to contribute. Just remember to keep nasty comments about speedy deaths for all LCers to yourself . There was a discussion between Tim Noakes and Jacques E Rossouw at UCT where Prof Rossouw cited a study purportedly showing that LCHF was no better than a high carb diet in weightloss. Noakes seemed to disagree with Rossouw's on the study and I would like to know what study that was and why there was such a difference in opinion. Gary Taubes mentioned a study that compared LCHF (sorry DaleE) and high carb that would support Rossouw's opinion, with a glaring omission pointed out by Taubes: High carbers were calorie restricted while LCHFers were not. Be cool to know! Guys, anyone have more info on the latest in LCHF research? I remember reading that there were studies, but the results would only be out earliest end of this year. Can't wait that long! Edit: LCHF opponent's name was Jacques E Rossouw. Not Jacque Rosseau. Fixed.
  16. I cursed carbs in general last week because a pizza gave me heartburn. Experiemnted with a plate of potato wedges @ M&B yesterday and didn't have any heartburn. Regardless, post-exam pig-fest is over. Strict LCHF again for me from here on out!
  17. Dumbasses don't see further than their noses. They should know better, but they don't care.
  18. Busy with practice dismantle & rebuild of an old 6 speed Raleigh (purple and silver ). Good learning experience and fun with new toolkit and diesel, but I lost a steel bearing. Do bearing shops sell the steel bearing balls "loose"? I couldn't remove the cassette as the spline profile for my Shimano lockring remover was ever so slightly too big for the SUNWAY cassette nut. Tried filing down my lockring remover splines, but gave up after 15 minutes and little progress. Do I continue filing down the splines or is there a slightly smaller tool I can buy?
  19. You added glitter?? LMAO Saw a few bottles of Joe's the other day in a LBS. White fluid, but had an orange/red residue at the top. What goes into these magic brews?!
  20. Anyone still up for the CO group buy brought up two weeks ago?
  21. They made a plan (good), but sold you a used/demo item without informing you (dishonest - BAD). Tjop move, CWC. Please get your act back together sharpish. I don't want any disappointments in my next order!
  22. Will try garden section for a plastic M5 barbed connector.
  23. What's a good place to look for the DIY bleed connectors that go onto the syringe end (M5/M6/M?) Checked out Midas, Naskar yesterday and was **** out of luck. Will try Builder's Warehouse next.
