  4. Since you seem to have your answer I would like to quickly hog your thread for a few minutes. Although this is at BRB how much of the single track is ridden and I presume it goes out of the BRB area on the longer distance? Concerned about being frustrated with a race on the single track and not many opportunities to pass. As there is no proper race information available, maybe someone who has done this before can help?

  15. Hi Jacques The saying that a six pack is made in the kitchen and not in the gym is very true. You cannot outtrain a bad diet so start there. If you like sweet things cut them out or minimise at least. Look at what type of carbs you are taking in and at what time of the day. Be careful with carbs I replaced potatoes etc with sweet potatoe in that specific case and cut out bread to once every month or even less. No fizzy drinks, if you want a beer go for light like Windhoek light or at least Castle light and don't drink 12 at once. NO take aways like KFC or McDs or anything that has been fried in oil, that **** is bad for your waistline and ticker. I drink at least a glass of red wine every day or a whiskey, I am not prepared to give up wine and whiskey but if you can stop srinking for a month or so that does help, alcohol contains lots of empty kj. Look for lean meats, skinless chicken and fish and ostrich etc. Vegs you can eats as much as you like if you steam it. Remember also that it's all about balance you still need fat but good fats Omega 3/6 end you still need dairy products but if you can get away with fat free or at least low fat, bargain. And eat smaller more regular meals that kicks your metabolism into gear. Drink enough water as well and then a moderate exercise program will do you the world of good. Weigh yourself every day even after the weekend when you know that you gonna be heavier if you cheated, that keeps me motivated and now its so easy to keep it off as I know what to do if I see that I might have gained a kg. Monitor your KJ intake if you can as that will assist to see that you don't take up too many calories. We need them to survive but at least make them come from good nutritious sources. I can say this because (after some external factors took control of my weight) I lost 20kg in less than 8 months last year and have never felt better. Good luck and shout if you need more encouragement or search for the biggest loser thread here on the hub

Cool I will follow this as it is my only reason for not getting an RC3!
  18. Normally there has to be signs of forced entry into the area where the bike was at the time. i.e. garage or house. I don't even think it is covered if behind a gate in your yard. They are very full of s#$% lately!
  19. Definitely I just got a G2 3bike and it is just freakin awesome. Much lighter I think than anything out there. Just remember that even though it is lockable insurance still requires you to lock your bikes to it with a separate bike lock or chain at least 12mm thick.
  20. Also insurance companies no longer cover you for theft if it was not locked to the rack/carrier by at least a 12mm chain or similar. So even though my G2 locks I always put a bike lock on as well.
  21. Meant to say the normal ones roll well but will give the snakeskins a go!!
  22. Like I said they ride lekker but yeah I hear ya and will definitely give them a go then. Where is the best place to buy? I need 650B x 2.1 or 2.25 (probably 2.1 for more XC)
  23. Nah they weren't snakeskins but I have had bad experiences with Schwalbes before. Not a fan although the ride is awesome. On the other hand I have not had a puncture on my Maxxis for a good two years just the occasional sealant check and topup. I suppose it's really a personal thing
  24. I blew 2 in one ride in the Karoo this holiday back on contis and maxxis!!
  25. I came from 26er but am not that small I am 1.8m tall but so far this bike just really suits me even on the tight stuff. Leaving for the Karoo tomorrow morning so will give more feedback when I return.
