  1. Then you get guys like this plonker, comes up behind me at a circle, I indicate, with my right hand outstretched to turn right, as I turn, he shouts profanities at me, I return them in kind but at this point he is already 15 m the other way. We both go our separate ways, he then turns around at some point, drives past me again and throws a coin at me which hits me in the chest. Stops and flips me off, only when a car comes up behind him does he move again. This video is the interaction when I caught up to him again, I got his number plate in case he escalated again, which he did, I didn't even look at him at the robot until he started his tirade. Threatening to run me over and break my legs
  2. Also depends on the inner width of the rim, I have 2.25s on my Sola 1 and with a 25mm inner rim width, it was fine even in mud, but after buying a new wheel with a 30mm inner width, clearance became significantly less, now riding in mud is a problem with all the rubbing.
  3. Rode a XC hard tail for 4 years 2.2 crossmarks and was always on the limit under braking and loose sections, recently got a 'downcounty' dual suspension with 2.4 trail tires. Really is night and day, yet to find the limit of the tyres and setting PR's already, however the biggest thing for me is less fatigue from riding, sore and stiffness from all the bumps and long term less stress on the body.
  4. Rewarded myself with some carrot cake.
  5. If your goal is weight loss, you'll get further improving your diet. Exercise is only a small part of weight loss and you'll see bigger and faster results with a good diet. Diet here being not a fad/unsustainable diet, but a diet you can sustain in the long run.
  6. Oef, AAA games have lower requirements than this.
  7. They are out and about in cape town as well, well not puff adders but saw what definitely was my first Cobra, hood and all
  8. I had the same problem last year, only luck that I started in the correct batch.
  9. Well, that was fun, harder than any road race I've done. Also why does it feel like it was uphill both ways, don't remember any descending
  10. I was forced to buy a race tec board for the MTB event, couldn't uncheck the board option or select anything different
  11. Thanks, actually went back and looked at some of my rides, I've done 40kms 1200m of climbing a couple of weekends ago in 3h15 hours. Also, very familiar with the Tygerberg trails, so I should manage. Will see what the extra 20km and 600m of climbing does to my legs
  12. How bad is the 60km 1800m chain breaker? 6 hours to complete it seems like you need a fair bit of endurance?
  13. I only used it a couple of times for about a hour and it seemed to work fine, was only a temporary solution till I got an inverter. It didn't drain the battery past 75%. I did google quite a bit at the time if it would work, and while the kicker states 60w its actually less:
  14. I've run my kicker core on those Router UPS's like this one before with no issues: Gizzu 8800mAh Mini UPS Dual DC | Buy Online in South Africa | takealot.com
  15. New Trail at Meerendal and the scenic route back home
  16. Indoor trainer Saturday
  17. Fair warning to anyone that wants to ride Rooikat, the middle section is almost unrideable, seems some horses/livestock trampled the trail to bits. If you like bumpy rides maybe this is the one for you
  18. Point 2 is actually an advantage, puts you in the correct position to break hard. To add my own 2c, the longest adjustment was that my back wheel kept feeling loose compared to how planted a MTB feels, those thin little tires doesn't inspire confidence
  19. Favourite loops
  20. Your guess is as good as mine. That's what he said, but he did say a lot of things that never turned out true
  21. Those sola 1 frames are just very susceptible from my experience. As others have stated here, different rotors, brakes etc doesn't matter. One thing I do remember is that the silverback employee that did the warranty claim for me, put some small weights on the chain stays which apparently helped.
  22. Went down this route, impatients got the better of me after the 3'rd frame and months of 'waiting on suppliers'
  23. It's the reason I will never buy silverback again... I've had 3 Solo 1 frames that have this problem to varying degrees. Just gave up at some point and learned to live with it and took the frame that had the least issues.
