  1. Jah so it's pretty much like Ventoux šŸ¤£
  2. https://www.strava.com/segments/9309316 Galgeberg vs Tokai mast : meh, if I could win my age cat and arrive fresh as a daisy that would be ideal šŸ¤£
  3. I was actually looking his strava up but power numbers are hidden for the last 3 weeks. I had a doubt but I thought last time I saw his data his zone2 ended at my threshold indeed šŸ¤£ You just confirmed šŸ˜œ EDIT : yeah, found a ride where his zones show... 259-352 zone 2, that's actually over my threshold šŸ˜
  4. yeaaaaaaah... considering his zone2 ends where most other athletes metabolic/tempo zone ends, not that slow šŸ¤£
  5. mmmh, will try the 40T the cranks came with after SA champs then, might save me a few bucks rather than having to buy/borrow a new chainring/new cassette
  6. ā€œBetter climberā€ šŸ˜œ I beat you once on a climb, before then you had a 100% success on anything more than 5mins šŸ¤£ but yeah, for Gallows itā€™s a head scratcher, I reckon best option would probably be 44 chainring with a 10-52 cassette which sucks because I have neither of thoseā€¦ otherwise I just go 42T chainring with my current 10-50T and hope I can hang on on the flats with the small chainring (I see average speed before the climb is 35kphā€¦ not sure if I can hold that on the 42T šŸ˜•šŸ˜• Same for tyres, Iā€™d want lighter tyres but I also heard the gravel is a bit gnarly before the climbā€¦
  7. Oof, you make me consider trying to find a smaller chainringā€¦ or maybe a 52T cassette, 46T-50 might not be ideal if itā€™s steeper than tokai mast
  8. it's 10 times less dodgy than paarden eiland to town imo. it's so quiet that I don't think it's worth it for criminals to wait there for someone to come through. also there seems to be a police facility closer to the N7, where they keep their horses, there's almost always a guard there, maybe it spooks them a little
  9. not sure what section you're talking about, the only dodgy section is between the checkers hyper and cipla as there are dozens of people walking form dunoon to their jobs. But so far so good, I've only encountered people actually going to work and not looking for trouble. Once you're out of the N7 you won't see anyone, hardly ever see a car.

  11. close, old malmesbury just after zone7
  12. https://www.leadvilleraceseries.com/little-sugar-mtb/ The header has a "Lifetime leadville race series" logo and it says "lifetime little sugar MTB, october 13"... > WTAF... https://www.leadvilleraceseries.com/mtb/ I'm lost for words here, they're really not making it easy to understand the series

how come there's a "jumbo" visma sticker on it though šŸ˜œ
  14. He did 2nd at little sugar in a sprint finish against Keegan, it doesn't appear to be part of the lifetimegrandprix last year, but on their website it says it does now ? Confusing AF his results last year : 3rd at crusher as well
  15. You can set it up all like you want from the head unit, I haven't pressed a button on mine for a week. It wakes up when you start your ride, goes to sleep when you finish your ride (providing you've activated lights control in your Wahoo app, or wherever that is on garmin units). You can also turn it on/off/change mode from the unit, disable notifications, etc. in a couple of clicks. EDIT : at the moment bike addict is the cheapest option
  16. I know, that's why I said I regret it wasn't built that way. Not going to go through the trouble of doing it now
  17. don't bother I'm usually more of a garmin hater, but I must say I eventually gave in and bought myself a varia (got a bit frightened by the rising amount of accidents recently and figured my life was probably worth the price tag), and even yesterday it the thickest fog I've ridden it, it was still seeing the cars from pretty far. And I've noticed a lot less close overtakes since I have mine, must have been riding with it for 2 weeks now, only had 1 car passing me close when I used to have that expenrience on the daily before. I charged it twice, including yesterday when the wahoo was still saying "Battery : Good" just to make sure. Only problems I had with it was yesterday it disconnected twice for a couple of seconds (also why I decided to charge it, just in case), and also took me a while to figure out that the "auto light" setting I set on "5 secs" on the Wahoo was the reason why it was turning off when there was no cars behind. Once you figure out how to control it from your Wahoo, then you can really optimise battery life (for exemple on Gravel during the day I only set it to blink when a car is coming, the rest of the time it's off). Also pretty cool that it turns on and off on it's own on the start and end of a ride.
  18. on a 2x system I really don't mind having only one battery to charge instead of two. Actually, I wish my bike was installed with the wires from the levers to the battery, it would be one less thing to worry about even if I still haven't changed the shifters batteries yet. I still have PTSD from when my gen 1 force shifters died on me 1km into the 100 miler, then I tried for 40km to shift up and down with the 1 remaining shifter using my phone to reprogram it to up/down every time. (With the super shitty app shimano has it would've never been possible)
  19. and here I was, squeezing my butt every time my varia was notifying of an incoming car
  20. Couldn't see passed my front wheel this morning while it was dark. Once the sun was out it wasn't much better.
  21. It was said theyā€™d sell van rysel outside of decathlon, to be honest I donā€™t understand this choice they already canā€™t keep up with demand in France in their own stores
  22. I'd go for the Cannondale with hydrolic disc brakes even if that means having one (two since it's 2x) less gears
