    Not a "real" trail bike, but its what I have and I love it! Takes me everywhere I want to go. bBeen upgraded slightly with the following DHR front tyre (courtesy of the_bob) NX derailluer (upgraded because the original one got damaged) Dropper post 780mm handle bars 45mm stem and increased fork travel from 100mm to 120mm For a R12k bike, its pretty awesome

    Thanks, my wife and I have started walking quite a bit and distance isnt to much of an issue, just when I start running, I think the extra load is what causes issues, but will just take it easy and have fun

    Yeah I am not to worried about time, would just like to not be last.... I can swim, not all that well, but I can swim well enough, I am more worried about the run, I am pretty chunky and found my feet took a real beating yesterday, but what the hell, its all just for s#!ts and giggles anyway

    So quite ironic that this thread popped up, till last weekend I have had zero interest in Triathlon events, but for some very strange reason the idea of trying it out has become quite appealing. So from you more experienced peeps, would it be a realistic option to enter one? Considering I have only been cycling for about 4 months, but I never actually run or swim. Yesterday I gave a "sprint" distance a half a go, did 24km cycle and a 5km "run" (mostly walked, haha) do you think it would be realistic to attempt a sprint Tri (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run) next weekend?

    Any chance somebody has a SRAM NX Eagle rear derailleur lying around? Bent the cage on mine and dont have cash for a new one, willing to pay for a used one if it's in good condition

    Guess I will stick to the rules and not ride them rather, it is such a pity though, some of the trail we walked on would be really nice for the bikes

    Can anybody tell me if you are allowed to ride on the walking trails at Modderfontein? I was there walking with my wife today, and some of those trails would be sweet to ride on, also saw a lot of bike tyre tracks on the trails. Would love to ride some of them, but I dont want to go ride them if it's not actually allowed

    Got a pair of Decathlon XXL baggies if anyone wants them, I knew they were going to be too big when I bought them, but gave a shot anyway, used them once, free to whoever picks them up, East Rand Germiston
