Ride every now and again with a group rode with afriend this weekend but this was no help as was stronger on most sections of the ride.

ride about 3-5hrs, have to do time on the idt as cannot always get onto the road becuase of work. normally ride at the wekend once or twicem, a 50+ and about a 30km.

Already have a compact chainset, is the first ride after the shova, legs felt heavy for the first half of the ride, but have felt that i really struggle to keep the cadence high on hills.

what is a lot of base kilos? 1000km or more?

Go for the 105... Whenever i replace a bike will look at one with a better groupset.
