  1. Very happy with my Xterra Vector pro suit, will def go this route again via Terry, I think its in your price range. I hear good things about the 2xu, My advise is to check the quality of the rubber and get some good thickness in the legs
  2. Dude, I feel for you, I have had a number of bikes nicked in my lifetime, all of them probably stripped, spray painted or otherwise unrecognisable, but I still take a second look at bikes that look like mine, just to be sure. And bet your bottom dollar, if I see anyone riding one of my bikes, even if it was stolen ten years ago, they are not going to be riding it for long. Straight to the police to lay a charge of being in possession of stolen property. Remember Caveat Emptor the buyer beware. You buy from any place which has a rep for stolen goods - we know which places - and you have a legal obligation to take all reasonable steps to ensure that you are not buying stolen goods.
  3. No time for Blues, got 9 weeks to go until Ironman. But if you don't have a new goal set out you can feel a bit "out at sea".
  4. The shirt is pretty bad, but I think complaints should be directed at Paul Wolff, he is ultimately responsible for the shirt, and the rubbish bag that was provided. I will be emailing him about this for sure, two bad shirts in a row is unacceptable.
  5. There has been a hell of a lot of gastro going around, I dont think its race related
  6. Not sure what you expected the roadies to do, they won't have a tube for your MTB and couldn't do anything about a sidewall cut. You got to be self supporting dude, one bomb isn't going to cut it, you got to carry the essential kit. A little jog home probably wouldn't have killed you either. But I agree it was a bit rude of them not to ask if you were ok, then you could at least have advised them that it was your own fault for being ill prepared on your ride and waved them on their way.
  7. Too expensive for a rather boring race. Would rather pay about the same and do the ITU race at the Waterfront in April. I think this is also about a week before Xterra, which is twice the race at half the entry fee.
  8. No helmet = No brain, pretty simple really
  9. If you are doing the long, then go with a suit, the water isn't that warm, and 1.5 km is a decent swim. The start is also a total dogshow, catfight, washing machine whatever, it is nice to have a bit of extra buoyancy just for when you are kicked around and need to recover. Just get a bit of practice beforehand
  10. Do you breath both sides? one sided breathing is the most likely reason for going off course. Otherwise your stroke is out of balance, it could be anything to your hand entry point the path through the water. Best go see someone for some stroke correction, there is no way you are going to solve this problem on-line
  11. Not a bad set that I did today 500 m warm up 5 x 50 m (250 m) (sprint) 4 x 75 m (300 m) (1st 50 easy, 2nd flat out, 3rd easy) 5 x 100 m (500 m) (fast pace) 5 x 200 m (1000 m) (tempo pace) 2 x 100 m (200 m) (fast pace) 2 x 75 m (150 m) (fast pace) 1 x 50 m (sprint) 100 m cool down Total 3050 m
  12. All I can say is thanks goodness I can bike and run and have no pressure on me for the swim, some of these sets look killer
  13. My plan is to ride to the start and then ride home that will get me up to around 160 km on the day. My advise is to do the same, if you are staying close to the start just do ride out towards Tableview and back. I started a second loop last year, but pulled out after 30 km, just wasnt fun worrying about marshals and a ban
  14. I got me one of those for my boy, loved it. Now onto an Avalanche pedal bike for Christmas
  15. I heard from a dude at Olympic cycles that no one is importing them anymore, phone first to check if there is any stock.
  16. Shees thank goodness that Team Hot Chilleee didnt bring this dude on as a ringer
  17. The 520's are rock solid, same entry / exit as XT / XTR, a bit heavier, but at the price are absolutely fantastic.
  18. Horrible place to ride a road bike, tried it one year and didn't have much fun at all. Why anyone would go to Jeffreys with the idea of not spending a whole lot of time surfing does escape me though.
  19. I have always fantasised about a one day race which includes a MTB and then a Road leg, around the Grabouw / Elgin / Oak Valley area, great MTB trails, some nice tarmac. 50 Km Mtb then 100 km on road
  20. The Hub's search function seems to be my enemy, its a bit of a pain in the buttock
  21. On bikeradar they said the only damage was a few punctures (understandable) and a brake like that pulled out in a crash, seriously impressive. Not sure if I would buy that bike second hand though.
  22. Good for Wiggo and for the Royals, at least credit is given where credit is due. Lest anyone forget he won the TDF, Sure Froome may have been stronger on the hills, perhaps Froome was in better form, but its a TEAM sport not a free for all.
  23. "I love skidding about, locking the rear and sliding" no wonder Tokai is so trashed, please look after out trails!
  24. Bugger all they can do about it, as Macca said, “I said ‘I’ll race ya mate.’ I don’t even care if there are no accolades. No one around. I just want to race you. Just two old blokes. No excuses,’” he said. “We threw that out to him a couple of weeks ago… Lance has done some horrible things and some amazing things athletically, but he’s still a competitor and I’ve always been inspired by racing competitors. He’s a prickly personality and I’d love to go around and have a crack at him.”
  25. Would be a fantastic showdown, I think that only Macca and Lance are keen. Of course my money is on Macca to take out the biker
