I generally prefer to coach people with power meters. I find it very difficult to monitor progress etc on purely HR. I feel so rejected !!!! (Seriously though Bruce - that's why I added the Power meter quip in the initial post. I am looking at getting a series of IDT training DVD's for someone as a Christmas gift. Anyone have any comments or any suggestions on which are suitable for seriouse IDT training. My first year of cycling after an 8year layoff (and countless kg lay-on!!) Highlights: 1) The DC - amazing event, much better than Argus IMHO 2) First Argus 3) Watching Robbie get so close and eventually win the Tdf Stage. Even the "boss" was shouting with excitement!! Lowlights: 1) Trying to keep up with Colonel and his "boys in pink" and C50 at this weekends TdWinelands and getting dropped at about 15km (or was it only 5 - hanging around at the back of the bus didn't help but it was the doors were "closed" ). I knew I shouldn't have done the 80km ride on saturday but it's the first race that I felt like packing it in after 20km !!!
