I now have the cash to build up my BMC SL01 (advertised in Notice Board). So what do I do? Do I look for a used bike on the hub for the 10k its going to cost me or buy Campag Centaur, wheels (2-3k) etc new and have a new bike?

Went to my "new" LBS and they gave me a small amount for free to try. I am sure if you are a regular customer/visitor your LBS will do the same.

Had a similar problem a while ago and, after much valuable advice about grease and seatpost clamps, eventually discovered that my LBS had inserted an adaptor/ spacer to convert to a smaller seatpost. Once I removed the insert and purchased a new, correct size seatpost etc the problem disapeared.

Hey ShortLegs - you'll see this is the most common "stirring" subject on the hub. No offence meant and none taken. Would love to join you for a beer but the distance to "United Kingdom" makes it uneconomical, even if you're buying!!!
