  1. Dunno if it has been mentioned yet but, that bridge towards Phisantekraal has been closed due to a coal train departing the tracks and ploughing into the bridge... apparently closed for approx. 3 months = detour...
  2. Die Burger should almost be an index of 2 (or so) for you right? Nicely done! After a shaky start (and broken bike), I am back into the group in which I was seeded at the beginning of the season. YAY!
  3. Time to change that profile pic to a real bike
  4. Or just cornered badly... then again, I was flying down there after repairing a team member's puncture...
  5. HAHA! I had that happen to me - CWC Online sale but two guys (one being me) bought the last item at the same time. I got a different brand product, with similar spec, for the same price. Awesome service! But I do see how separating the Online stock from the 'Physical' shop stock.
  6. Check the Giant Liv range for ladies - 27.5" and really good looking.
  7. I wish I still had her. Unfortunately she was my dad's bike and he sold her shortly after I got my CIOCC.
  8. Boet, I was hooked when I rode her (1st Argus in 2010):
  9. So when is this ride happening now? 24th/25th OR 7th? Hope to have my replacement frame by then... otherwise it's an Alpina SS ride for me.
  10. Lend me that beaut and I'll ride it for you
  11. Well, if you do end up ordering soon, I have (according to my basket) 95.94 pounds (R1343.91 ex SA vat of 14%) of stuff that I want to buy... could piggyback and get free delivery (if order is over 130 pounds)
  12. Thanks Guys. I have communicated with the importer and, after looking at the pics, he is arranging for a replacement frame from Italy... lets see how long it takes to get a frame from overseas It had a 2 year warranty so well within the period for a replacement. I am suspecting a bad weld as it was just above the weld point.
  13. Bought her new man... I chatted to the guy I bought it from (the importer). He said that he has had only one case before of a CIOCC frame cracking and it was a carbon frame.
  14. Well, it's not even 2 years old yet!!! Bought new in September 2011.
  15. Hey guys, So I was cleaning and re-greasing my GXP BB this morning and spotted this.... Is this the end of my steed? She is insured but want to make sure that I am not seeing things that aren't there. Also, what is the worst that can happen when riding?
  16. From a guy who currently weighs around 96Kg's, those wheels should be fine. As Eldron said, it's only when you start shifting weight from left to right (standing and climbing hard kinda thing) that you have the potential to break things. That being said, I ride a set of Rs10's (Shimano) and have had no issues with them. Tri is more flattish and straight anyway, right?!
  17. Just responded on Fb, but thought I'd respond here too. Keen but depends on what date and if I am available. Working in Claremont and sleep in Wellington...

  19. Thanks for the great event! While my wife was doing the 12Km, I took on the 42Km for the 2nd time...... and was reminded why I didn't like the route the first year. The climbing is just not made for a 92kg body Loved the flattish, single track and downhill sections - especially that steep one after the 'technical' rocky bit (made up a few places there with guys walking down). I had a better bike this time around and it showed - stopped for Castle Lite and Muscadel and still beat last year's time by 7 minutes
  20. Should have phoned me boeta!
  21. Lekker Rooi Muscadel. Was good
  22. Condolences to that Stander family. So seriously sad indeed. Hopefully the authorities will do something about road safety now that a SA legend has been unnecessarily killed
  23. Going for my 3rd sub-3 in 4 attempts (finished all 4), although missing Boyes this year makes it less of a challenge compared to the last few years...... making it more challenging by training less
  24. Thanks for the ride this morning guys. It was great to 'chill' with a couple of hubbers for a morning spin. I also scored some brownie points too coz the missus said she really enjoyed the ride and thanks me for doing it with her
