  1. Ok, I'm not really sure of the bunches from here on.. 1st League guys (VA?):
  2. TCS "social" tandem?
  3. Racing Tandems:
  4. Perfect day..
  5. Ok, so I wasn't riding for the 1st time in 17yrs, so thought I'd go watch on little Chappies. Took quite a few photos, but was my 1st attempt with moving targets so sorry for the quality. Maybe next time I'll have a clue! Didn't make it to the corner in time to catch the Giro guys, but caught the next few bunches. Sorry, having issues with the upload, will try again later.
  6. ZippIt, what part of the race was that taken, how close to the end? Can you id the riders?
  7. I've asked Epic if they can get, will let you know when I hear back from them. Where are you based?
  8. Wondered why I saw Kevin Evans riding thru Lakeside this morning. Didn't realise he was prevented from riding Giro. Wonder how this affects his & DG's Epic prep. Wonder whether the guy who was shouting the odds about DG spitting at Hunter yesterday will have the balls to apologise.. (assuming that Chunky's version is correct, but gotta admit it seems to be more plausible given that Hunter was the party fined..)
  9. Yup, was done by a guy called Riaan Manser. Good luck to Jolandie, but after reading Riaan's book I think she's crazy..
  10. My GF knows Lisa (the victim) through VOB running club. Lisa's brother sent this email to Cape Talk radio station: Dear John I am writing to you in the hope that you may be able to assist us in trying to track down the attacker of my sister in Kistenbosch on Friday morning. The attack was a premeditated attack with the sole aim of raping and murdering . The attacker was a black man in his mid 30's, he was well spoken with a clean shaven face. He wore grey pants and a grey/brown t shirt. He had a green theatre cap on his head. He pretended to be a fellow jogger and would more than likely have entered Kirstenbosch via cecelia forest somewhere between 6 and 6.45 am. Their where many runners/walkers in the area at the time so its likely a listener might have seen him. Close to the seen of the attack workers found a bloodied t- shirt and underpants so someone might have noticed a semi clad black man near Kistenbosch/Cecelia forest. This would have been around 7.10 to 8am. The attack was not an isolated incident as reported by the police/press, an attack took place in the same area 2 weeks ago. There have been atleast 4 attacks in this area in the last 2 years. The attacker besides severly injuring my sister and attemting to rape her also stole her Garmin 305 frontrunner. This can only run off a special charger or computer, at the time of the attack it had about 7-8 hours battery life left. We believe he may try to offload this and are offering a reward for its receovery as it will be able to provide much needed information. Maybe anyone with info can contact yourselves or the crime number or me ? I would really appreciate your stations assistance in this matter as we all need to work on keeping our Mountain safe from this kind of pervert ! Many thanks Andrew Chin lurker2008-02-05 06:45:53
  11. Boulders is just past Simonstown, think you mean Bakoven. Hope the cyclist is ok.lurker2008-01-31 01:48:59
  12. Well, I think the Lobo gives you enough space. On marathon races I normally pack in the following: 2x tubes Puncture repair kit (yes, yes, going tubeless this winter..) Multitool (incl chainbreaker) & magic link Rainjacket Energy bar/gels And about 1.5L of fluid.
  13. I've been using the Lobo for the last 2 seasons. Great pack, not too big but big enough to pack everything you need for a full day in the saddle. Your only concern might be the length of the Lobo. Not sure how tall you are, try it on while sitting on a bike & make sure it feels comfy. No thoughts on the Magic - sorry.
  14. Well, I live in Lakeside & was getting rather annoyed with the way people were cycling down main rd on Sat. Saw about 3 groups riding 2 or 3 abreast, totally irresponsible & a sure fire way to piss motorists off. Can't be sure but I did wonder if it might have been some of the Cyclelab club guys. Fair number of the riders were in Cyclelab gear & it was at about the right time they would've been on their way back. Throughout the weekend I saw people riding 2 abreast on main rd... clearly the silly season is upon us. Having said that, resorting to physical abuse is taking things a bit far.lurker2008-01-28 02:14:09
  15. Looks awesome, where was it?
  16. Hey Popeye, I see you ride with those Ergo grips/bar-ends. Are they worth the cash?
  17. Ok, cool, thanks for all the suggestions. I'll replace the battery, any idea where I can get a new seal (in CT)? - and no, Kalk Bay harbour isn't the answer I'm looking for..
  18. Ok, so my Polar s720i seems to be having problems with the initial pickup of my HR. Never used to have a problem. My routine is still the same, wet the contacts on the strap before I put it on. Only now it either doesn't pickup at 1st, or seems a bit erratic. I don't think it's the watch as all the bike functions work 100%. I assume it means I need to replace the battery on the strap?
  19. Looks like a perlemoen factory near Gansbaai.
  20. Been riding them for the last year. They do the job well & at CWC's price probably a great buy for a set of training wheels. If you're concerned with weight, then avoid them.lurker2007-12-14 08:47:43
  21. Iteresting, I'm also running Avid Arch Rivals. Upgraded from sh*tty Deore v's to the Arch Rivals.. Man, what a difference! Depending on cash situation, but for me it wasn't even a discussion. Much rather go for high quality v's than cheap discs. Put some Koolstop pads on & you're good to go.
  22. Sorry to hear. There's a guy from Mossel Bay on the forum, he might be the best option with regards cycle shop info in the area. Try PM him: mbaymike Other option might be to give Chris Jnr a call at CWCyles, they courier stuff around all the time & I'm sure will try to help out. www.cwcyles.co.za Was in Swellendam for the DC this weekend & I did actually see a bike shop. They were closed so I don't know what they stock & I can't remember their name, but they were downstairs from the Country Cousin restaurant(028-514-1660) so you could always phone them to find out the cycle shop name so that you could call them. Good luck, hope u come right.
  23. So, the story goes the Montagu bridge is flooded, don't you have any contacts out there that can confirm/deny it?
