  1. Budgetwise my choice was 1x average road shoe + 1x average mtb shoe OR great MTB shoe and use for both.....chose latter and never looked back! Very good quality MTB shoe is good for both...stiff, comfortable and no hotspots like the more affordable alternative.
  2. Will hand it in at Epic Sports Doornkloof Shopping Centre
  3. If you lost your cycle computer in Groenkloof, please PM me so we can arrange for pickup.
  4. The plot thickens....although the credit card interface returned nothing, I received two e-mailed payment confirmations! Only 3 to go! Good luck to all those of you that still want to register online!
  5. Our family do the monthly Babba's Lodge races because we like the track, people, location and participants. We always enter online although the website is very slow, especially registering 4-5 people every time. This month the link from Cyclelab/Online Entries/MountainBiking/Babba'sLodge is: 1. Extremely slow from ID number screen right through to payment. 2. The credit card payment function bombed out, although it all worked perfectly on the Vori-Berg online registration. I already notified: 1. Babba'sLodge online feedback option (10 days ago) 2. Cyclelab online e-mail address 4 days ago 3. Franco Sport e-mail address 4 days ago. 4. SMS to Andre de Beer on 0824905061 3 days ago. No response or feedback from any of the above. I see 20 people managed to register so far. Please tell me what I should do to better resolve this situation. Thanks
  6. Dibs seems to simply indicate a potential buyer's wish to be afforded "first refusal" All this could probably have been avoided if the seller dropped the potential buyer a note to say. "I found a firm buyer. You have 10 minutes to deposit the cash or I will sell" OR Alternatively the seller could respond to a "dibs" with ..."sorry this is first pay first served only" Many of our responses (mine included) remind one of playground banter. No wonder we allow "dibs". It is part of what makes thehub colourful. BTW "dibs" is many a time an indicator to some of us that it is a good buy/value for money.
  7. Trying to register online for Babbas. (Cyclelab.com) Website horribly slow. Credit Card payment function defective. Got nowhere in 90 mins, but registered & paid online for Vori-berg in 15 mins. Anyone having the same problem? You think they ran out of t-shirts
  8. Is this an offer to sell or an indication of the price?
  9. Where is best place to buy/order the duallie frame?
  10. Last time I stopped at a red robot, I got run over by another cyclist!
  11. Yes every month. Enter electronically on www.cyclelab.co.za ... online entries. Saturday's photos http://www.doitnow.co.za/galleries/MTB%20Dirtmax%20Aug%202011/index.html
  12. Did our first dirtmax yesterday. They only start at 9am which means one can reach them from Pta (160km) by leaving the same time we leave for the local races. The track is a very good mix of fast and slow sections. It is the largest % of regular casually dressed social riders in the mix, we have seen. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly, relaxed. Lots of families. Parys looks like a pub crawlers paradise? Will most definetly go back often.
  13. Totally agree that the different items all have their best suited applications. Been using my RS800 bike for more than 2 years. Chose this one because: 1. I only want to wear ONE wristwatch....one less item to remember to tag along/swop. Also means my stats are with me ALWAYS. 2. Do NOT want to recharge / swop batteries more than once a year and then I want to do it myself. (Another schlep from some units) 3. The GPS mapping bit is for free with Endomondo software on my Blackberry, so no GPS add-on for me. 4. Had face and strap replaced for R300, after an epic face plant. Same incident's left shoulder repair cost R32,000.ee 5. The software that comes with the watch suits my personal needs 100%

White wax based chain lube. I tried the very expensive ones recommended in the surveys, but are back on the wax based.
