  1. ok joined up as well. Would be a good motivating tool to get a into g as soon as possible. Must take this week off due to rough tumble over weekend. ( learnt that flying is easy, landing still needs some work)
  2. It still saddens me to think about his untimely passing. We can talk talk talk all day about exactly what happened and still be wrong. Fact: an awesome rider and person passed away. Fact: it was a k@k incident, partly/mostly due to human negligence. Fact: vehicles and cyclists are sometimes ignorant of road rules. Fact: I still get tears in my eyes when reading anything related to this. Your time is your time. God knows what he wants to do with our lives....but heck it still is sad
  3. Gutted. It always happens to the good ones. RIP Burry
  4. The scary fact about that bike's price is that I bought my son a 16inch totem bike for the same price! Even if the bike only last two years, at least he will be able to learn to use his brakes! *hijack off* I'll take all of the reasons except for 13 and 19
  5. Thanks! They're quite good at stopping the bulky rider too!
  6. SLX Brakes KCNC Razor rotors Specialized Foam Grips Oakley Racing Jackets All of it : "To Dad, from Dad"
  7. Dankie Riaan, het gebel, hulle nuwe voorraad kom oor so week.
  8. My son has outgrown his 12". Have decided on a 16" bike for Xmas, he is turning 4 next Feb. While there are lots of these little bikes around, he dearly wants a "red one like daddy". I thought of getting one, stripping it and have it painted red, but that would cost me the same as a desent new bike. Been at Makro, game, solomons etc and no luck. Where else could I look? 1,2K is max price. If you feel obliged to chirp about the proven fact that red bikes are faster, please do, but then u also need to tell me where to find one! He is such an awesome little guy, and I hope that Father Xmas can deliver! Thanks guys and girls!
  9. looking with droopy eyes at Oakley Radar Lock Path Red Iridium, but yoh they are expensive. Still deciding, its either the Oakleys, or a cheapie pair of sunnies that I can throw away at the end of each year as I'm heavy on sunglasses and my 4y/o son loves them too....
  10. Upgraded from juicy 3 to Slx and took them for a test drive yesterday, what a difference! Go and have a look at Solomon's as well. Got a full set with rotors for 1650
  11. Pluuuuuusssszz? Got the Ginseng and Vit one. Our Pharmacy in Rooihuiskraal stocks it. If you want we could arrange something, but they dont make a real difference. I stopped using them. If you want I'll give you what is left (more than half) to try out first
  12. Thanks guys.....sounds like the Hub's very own Chuck Norris
  13. I know someone else also looked for the man a while back. Have basically made up my mind what brakes Im gonna get and where, but would like to talk to him to see what he has to offer. Can someone that knows him please PM me his contact details/ Thanks
  14. Could find Deores for 1400 locally and 1100 before VAT etc on CRC. Not too bad. C'mon bonus time!
  15. Thanks for the replies! Yeah it was the "all inclusive bling" that grabbed my attention first. Would probably end up going the SLX route.
  16. Seen these on CRC...the red would bling up very pretty with my bike. I would just like to know if it would be a good buy R1200 or so ZAR, and if anyone uses them, as my limited knowledge would be no good in making a choice Currently running Juicy 3's This set comes with levers, calipers, rotors and as a bonus matching lock on grips too.
  17. Would there be issues if I join in too? When are you planning on doing it? Will have a look at Bike Inn as well Wil net besluit presies wat ek soek. Sal jou PM later. Thanks
  18. Anyone planning to put in an order at CRC end of November/beginning December? thinking of getting new brake set from them. and would like to piggy back please!
  19. Very good responses explaining it to a non-tech junkie like me. But Alsoran gave the answer I was looking for! I'm off to write to Father Xmas...
  20. eish, just checked the map of this mornings ride, seems like the countdown got stuck and only started way into the ride....oh well will check settings and give it another go tomorrow morning.
  21. Happens to me too. Usually take an apple, banana, or 4 provitas with marmite. I try and avoid the nuts and biltong, too difficult to stop
  22. CWCycles has this hook and pulley system on sale for R150-00. Think its pretty nifty
  23. Just checking too see what the other hubbers think of this. I use Endomondo Pro on my BB9900. I like this app for its functionality and for keeping some kind of history of my rides. I do a short route 3 times a week (around 18km) and push as hard as possible, and then obviously longer ride on a weekend Just a few oddities that I found: Same route, same everything: different route profiles as well as small variances in distance This morning it calculated that I did 13kms instead of 19 (added a small loop) Now what might be the reason for this? I know this is just supposed to be a phone application for recreational purposes, but still. Or should I just shut up and get a Garmin Edge 500?
  24. Nick, total cost incl VAT etc? Wanna get either this or SLX, my juicy 3's not high on my confidence list
