  1. Busy downloading the Legend Catalogue from here: http://www.alanbike.it/the-legend-collection-2015/ also emailed them some pics for more info. Lets hope for the best
  2. Will do...I'm picking up the frame this afternoon....struggled to get the cranks off and didn't want to stuff it up, so will take a few close ups of frame and fork tonight. The wheels were a bit out of true, so had that sorted out today as well. So tonight the sanding will start. Damn this is lekke stuff, feeling super excited, will see what other info I can find as well. Thanks once again
  3. Can second that. I will be taking this opportunity to learn as much and start to learn how to work on my bikes myself. If I can take it apart, I sure as hell can put it back together.
  4. From this website I got the pic of the fork that my Alan has, although it maybe isn't the same one, it appears to be very similar. Sohttp://web.archive.org/web/20050214124506/http://www.alan-bikeframes.com/2003-2004/en/roadforks.html
  5. Just a question...in terms of looks: bar tape: black or white? Want to do the cables in black. And definitely a new saddle...
  6. Going to leave the frame as is. Just going to touch up here and there. Shiny bits to polished etc as well as cranks.
  7. Thanks for the replies thus far Going to take my time getting it on the road.
  8. Hmm seems like some more research is on the cards! Will post close ups of fork tomorrow
  9. I dont know...think its alu
  10. This is my new "skelm". 1980's Alan Record. Got if for a bargain and only still need to remove the crank and chain. Paintwork is still in very good condition, lugs will need to be polished and forks and seat stays, sanded and polished. Then properly cleaned and serviced. That's it will keep you all posted. Campagnolo Rims, Shimano 105 Sti levers and derailers.

  12. That first ride of our kids without the side wheels is a magic moment in any parent's life. My Son turned 5 in Feb and we tried last year for a bit but it didn't workout and the side wheels stayed on. Two weeks ago, we just took off his wheels, had 4 sessions on the lawn, two on the driveway and yesterday we went for a 3.5km ride.... It was an amazing experience and a moment we both will treasure and I am so proud of him. Soon we will hit Big Red Barn or Groenkloof...good times ahead!!
  13. What I was thinking as well
  14. Ek is 1.78 en het n 19" hardtail. Geen issues nie en setup is 95% korrek. Die kleim raam wat jy noem kan dalk met langer stem etc reggemaak word vir jou te pas. Dis hoe ek dit verstaan volgens my beperkte kennis.
  15. Dankie Meneer
  16. Just a question for all the runners on here: I want to get my wife a new pair of cross training/trail running shoes. Her current Asics gives her shins a hard time and she seems to have settled in nicely in the whole boot camp thing. So the new shoes are her reward for being a good girl Where in PTA/Centurion can we go for a proper analysis/set up to get her the right shoes? Thanks!!
  17. On my previous wheels, I had a set of KCNC Razor Rotors, lightweight, cool design, and no issues when braking.
