  1. Zula 4" rear travel - XC/Marathon bike - light as possible Shova 5" raer travel - Freeride Bike - weight was not the main concern
  2. I`ll recommend hitting the super circuit at least once a week. You dont have to think about what to do next and there is a timer too. This will give you great variation and overall toning. You will prob not loose weight in the first 2-3 weeks but the cm will come off. You will most likely only see results on the scale after 3 weeks but then it comes off quick. When it comes to weights stick to 25 reps, if you cant do 25 your going too heavy. Remember, you are building muscle endurance. Good luck!
  3. It`s a beast of a machine! Would like to see that setup with a white frame + black decals
  4. I`ve had both and i`ll go with Mongoose. The GT is very hard riding, where the Goose has a little more flex in the rear. Dont get me wrong, the GT is a good bike but I believe the spray job on the 2008 Goose is much better than the GT and the frame is lighter. It felt too me as if the GT was a more aggresive position and it hurt my back a bit, the Goose is more relaxed and woks better for me. You cant go wrong with either, but I would say the goose it better looking and easier to ride on for those 4 hour rides.
  5. Nice one grumpy! Run ads relavant to the program! I will PVR most stages and watch as much as I can. I recon the DVD will be worth waiting for.
  6. Really nice to see someone took the time to design something so clean looking. You cant clearly see the joints - stem, fork, seatpost - connections. Reminds me of the Merc CLS when it came out - just looks clean & smooth. Like it`s suppose to have been made like that all along
  7. Olympic is real good value for money - you will have to spend DBL on other brands to get the same comfort & durability. There are better shoes on the market but you`ll pay a lot more to get a little more shoe.
  8. Contact Al for B.A.T - Big Al`s Tubeless - locally made and has great plugging power. Contact him through the bicicletta website www.bicicletta.co.za They have just started with the range - He will be able to help you. Good price too
  9. These tyres are quick and cheap - now, anyything that is quick & cheap will leave you with something - either a rash or a roasty. Dont even think about getting any type of lasting out of them - they are, afterall - quick and fast They are good to race with but good luck trying to get them off your hoops again TIGHT LIKE A TIGER
  10. I`m 22km from work, I ride home on Mon afternoon and back to work tue morning. By alternating the days you can take kleen kit for the next day - I leave my shoes at work to not take up extra space. Get a backpack with straps around your middle too - this will help the pack to stay steady. I ride MTB - Tubeless - minimise the risk and I dont have to worry about the SUV`s so much. I wear a reflective vest over my riding kit - but the ankle straps sounds like a good idea. This gives me an extra 4 hours of riding a week, plus I use it as easy base training.
  11. Personal opinion - Go for 20 reps. If you cant do 20 reps - you`re going too heavy If you can do 30 reps - you`re going too light Try combination movements if you can - this will help with core. Even try some fitness classes with the lady - it will score you some brownie points too.
  12. That`s good advise - do the trade in the shop if you can. Like "Shake & Bake" says - if I see you going down the street in my stolen bike - I`m not going to give you a chance to explain. Meet at CWC - do the deal in the clear and if it is what he says it is - get some new decals in the shop to avoid confusion. Keep his details on record.
  13. There is a long list of what might be wrong: Limit screws wrongly adjusted Hangar bent Stiff link in the chain Bent link in the chain Dry derailleur wheels Dirty cables ect I would start by looking at the derailleur from behind the bike and check that it`s hanging straight If so reset your upper and lower limit screws - it`s easier to do this with the chain off if you can but not nessicary Check the derailleur wheel move freely Set your gears again - that should sort it out but these steps are not fool proof - there is a lot that can go wrong back there. Hope this helps
  14. Become best mates with your LBS mechanic - train & race with him!
  15. Thanx for the effort guys - Im in Pta but will come round some to to support. After sundays jackings in Irene my wife aint keen on letting me out anymore so we`ll surley give the new routes a try some time.
  16. I`ve never dealt with Singletrack before - only heard good things. However - "Dont judge a man by the mistakes that he makes but rather by the measures that he takes to rectify them" - My theory. Singletrack - At least show some interest to help resolve this - in the name of all this cycling related
  17. The options are just endless on this one "sporting hard fact" "touch wood" "blow the competition away" "Jumped the bunch" "out the saddle and riding hard" " in vain" Its all good till it`s banned "She`ll have fun, fun, fun till her daddy takes the t-bird away"
  18. I have do doupt that Shamus is sorting it out if he has not done it already. If it is sorted then you are like the Fonz - cool. How you got spamed, I dont know but you have to admit that Shamus handled it very efficiently - now hopefully you will stop scoring a 8.7 on the cockkometer.
  19. That is how you deal with problems - face it head on with nothing to hide! "Judge a man not by his mistakes, but by the measures he takes to rectify them"
  20. Do the gentlemanly thing and send bicicletta a mail asking them not to send you anything - if that`s against your pricipals, PM me your email and i`ll ask him to remove it. I take it by your multipal post that you have the time to do it. Send me your details and i`ll take care of it for you. Nothing but respect for Shamus - Bicicletta! Give the man a chance to set it right if wrong was done!
  21. Dude - its Pta - Trust no one!!! Before you get into your car - take a 360 look, get in and lock your doors, then start the engine, then pay the car guard if you deem it needed. Glad you got out OK. Heads up mate!
  22. The question is will we hear the other side of this story? What is the harm if you have nothing to hide? Watch this space
  23. I`ve seen the insulation tape and old valve core installed and woked very well. I guess the BMX tube should work better and can not be that difficult to find. Otherwise get a BMX tube - cut out the Schroder valve as small as possible and cut an overlapping Presda and fit it through - should work fine since the air pressure presses then against each other.
  24. Its only cause a Spaz ridercan not give way since his rear shock has just blown! - I agree on the Biggest/Most aggressive rule
